The Mitre, Hampton Court

"We had a classic double at the back of the hotel so window opened into a small courtyard. It was lovely and quiet and cool on what was the hottest couple of days in May since the 1940’s. Thankful for the fan. Room is nice, clean and comfy bed and nice bedding. Not spectacular but we certainly weren’t paying the top room prices and I was happy with our choice and cost for what we got. My only niggle was the fact that there is no full length mirror (or even half sized one) anywhere in the room. Plenty of walls to put one on so think that would be an easy improvement. Bathroom also needs a redecoration. Location is perfect for Hampton Court Palace and staff were very friendly. We arrived about midday and checking isn’t until 4pm but space was still found for our car. We visited the Palace then showered, changed and had a nice dinner in the Terrace. It was busy so service was a little slow but we were in no great hurry. Breakfast was lovely, good choice and lovely bright dining area overlooking the Thames. Check out at 11am so no morning rush which was nice. All in all very enjoyable and would definitely recommend the hotel."

"Met with very rude reception staff, assumed manager as he carried on his staff training for 5 mins whilst ignoring we were stood waiting to check in. Ordered food and got £20 dry chicken and chips. Although rooms appear nice and refurbished woke up with what seems 2 bites on feet. Very odd place and not the feel of a crown plaza at all. Very unprofessional and random in most aspects."

"Every attention to detail. Very helpful with a couple of requests. Staff were exemplary. Breakfast great. Even though I was there for 4 breakfasts I could not try everything, never mind any other requests such as omelettes and any other whim a customer might have wanted. The 4 Reception staff who we spoke to over the days we were there. All staff seemed happy in their work, even the workman said good morning. The staff sorting breakfast were lovely - Claire, Nicky and Mate (not sure I’ve spelt that correctly) young man on duty Sunday morning (31.05.26). Good facilities in room - luxury products, fridge, safe, enormous bed, bathroom good size for us. Might not be best venue for smaller children - there were few little ones the first couple of days. Would definitely stay again."

"They left us outside the property in the blistering heat for 25 minutes with young children whilst finding someone with the key. They then took us into the wrong apartment. Eventually we got to our apartment and there was small pieces of broken glass on the floor, small bits of food in the fridge and generally not very clean. There was also no bedding for the sofa bed."

"Friendly staff, comfy bed, and a convenient location. It was good enough for one night, where all we needed was somewhere to sleep. I wouldn't stay here for a longer break. The room was dark and stuffy, cigarette smoke entered the room via the ventilation during the night which was unacceptable. The towels were thin and only one per guest, and no hand towel. There was no shelf or soap dispenser in the shower, so you had to put bottles on the floor. No biscuits. We didn't have breakfast or try the bar/restaurant. On site parking at £15 for 24hrs was convenient, if a little expensive. No barriers so not super secure, but it felt relatively safe."
