"Nice location - you'll love it in the summer."
Good hotel and food - bar as well as separate restaurant, breakfast options are pretty great. What not so good is the noise level, you can hear little noises outside your room. If there's a wedding party for example, loud music can hurt your night sleep.

"Awesome staff ...."
The staff were amazing and could not do any more to make our stay more enjoyable. Food in the restaurant was excellent and catered for our little one well. The 4 am start to the town market did restrict our sleep somewhat. However the hotel has no control over this! If booking ask for a room that is not located at the front.

"Charming hotel"
Nice little hotel tucked into a side street off High Street, the main thoroughfare in Lewes. Service staff is young and attentive; they quickly fixed a problem with our sink. Room was large and comfortable though the bath had no window and became rather hot since the heated towel rack was fixed on. In house restaurant was popular, and not only with overnight guests, however we can't comment on quality as we only ate in the bar area where the light food was superb, light and sophisticated. Breakfasts are wonderful, especially the apricot, prune and fig compote. Overall a wonderful, charming hotel.

Only one night spent here the food was very good although the portion size for the evening meal could have been a little larger. All in all we enjoyed the stay there.

Friendly staff. Good food at the bar and for breakfast. Server at breakfast could have been more attentive as toast was forgotten and order had to be repeated. Ensure appeared rather unclean. Bath had not been rinsed out, no soap or toiletries. Overall the hotel is charming and a nice place to stay.

"Nice friendly hotel"
Hotel situated in a nice quiet village with a few very nice restaurants and pubs all within a couple minutes walk at the most. Staff couldn't be more friendly and welcoming. Breakfast included which is a bonus. Room was immaculate and nicely decorated with modern fixtures. Tea and coffee provided in the room. Breakfast basic but superbly cooked and of good fresh quality. The only gripe if you would call it one is that the bed was too soft for us. However, this is a matter of preference and we are used to sleeping on really really firm foam beds. Definitely worth staying in. Highly recommended.

"Night after the show"
After attending a matinee at chichester we drove to the Fox goes free.it is extremely popular as a restaurant and pub. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the food was very good and later sat in the large garden with a glass of wine with a great view of the countryside. A very enjoyable one night stay.
