"Absolutely gob-smacked when we arrived at the Barnstaple Hotel, it was fantastic and totally unexpected. Staff were lovely, ambience great and it was just so welcoming. It was a fairly last minute booking, a one night stay and I hadn't really taken much notice of reviews etc. Great regret that I hadn't packed my swim-wear as the pools looked so enticing. "Very nice room and definitely high standards of cleanliness. If you don’t mind a walk it's not too far from the city centre. Amenities close by. Breakfast was ok. Desk staff good, breakfast staff may have had things going on in their lives as seemed a little down (hope their ok). "
