Great location - very convenient for train station, and fantastic that dogs are allowed to stay, though no extras thrown in for them. No air conditioning though so room was very hot, even though an electric fan was provided.
The staff were friendly, the interior of the building was lovely, and the location was very convenient. However, I was informed the day before my arrival that the lift was out of order. My room was on the 3rd floor, so it was quite difficult to carry my heavy suitcase up. Unfortunately, the lift was not repaired during my stay, and I had to carry my heavy suitcase all the way back down to the reception when checking out.

The elevator broke down before we went.
Body wash didn’t get topped up. Housekeeping once every three days unless on request.
No air conditioning, a problem in summer. A heater and fan provided in the room.

Room was a good size and clean, though not air conditioned so it was very warm after the recent hot spell. The hotel car park was small and full, so we parked in the Central Station car park just across the road from the hotel. Staff were helpful on arrival, but the lift was not working. We had been advised of that problem before we arrived. Hotel is in a good position in the city centre and a level walk to the main shopping and sightseeing areas near the cathedral. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but there are lots of places nearby where you can eat.
Authentic historical building with lots of pictures and books telling the story of a place.
Staff is very helpful and welcoming, room and all hotel area is clean, breakfast is fine.
Enjoyed my staying there.
Clean, quiet, great location and the receptionist was very helpful.

The King room was clean, spacious and had a decent bed. Unfortunately there is no aircon so the room gets VERY hot in summer and the small fan provided is inadequate. The hotel was also quite noisy late at night.

On arrival room wasn't ready.Had to wait nearly half an hour. Lift wasn't working so found climbing stairs difficult. Kettle blew all the fuses and had to be replaced.Room was large and bed comfortable.
Lovely hotel situated opposite Exeter Central railway station. There is parking @ £12.50 per night. We arrived at 12.30 to get a parking space, and although check in was 2pm the very help receptionist checked and said our room was ready. Lovely clean spacious room on tbe first floor with a good bathroom and excellent shower. The hotel is within a 10 minute walk of bars cafes and restaurants. We would definitely stay again
Great location. Cute little was helpful after a long day of travelling we just wanted to stay in. Super old hotel
With lots of creaks and the lift was out of service for my mum but we made due. Location is very close to high street and Exeter cathedral

Very friendly staff, fabulous room, central to all amenities.
Great location but very limited parking. Nice room. Good size and comfortable. The lift being out of order for such a long time is a major problem. All rooms are on the first floor or above.
We arrived very early to get a parking space as parking is difficult otherwise. We were checked on later by a friendly receptionist who double checked our car registration ans showed us she'd entered it correctly on the computer. She asked if we wanted to book breakfast but we didn't. When she handed us the key we were surprised to find it was exactly the same room as the one we'd stayed in last week. Again it was clean, and spacious with a nice shower. Lovely building and very situated for all amenities
