Tucked away in the redwoods just off Mill Valley's town square, the heart of the quaint little town, this little hotel offers a beautifully restful experience at the heart of Marin County and within very easy reach of San Francisco itself. For us it has become a tradition to stay here for our first couple of nights after flying in long distance (inter-continental) to get over the jet-lag. The staff are very hospitable and helpful and you can be guaranteed a genuinely warm welcome and help with any problems.
Mill Valley itself is a wonderful contrast to the hassle and bustle of San Francisco, yet it is only about a ten minute drive north of the Golden Gate Bridge. And it's close to the harbour at Sausalito, with its waterfront restaurants etc (though Sausalito is somewhat 'touristy'), and, just over the hill and an easy drive through the road which winds over the outer slopes of Mount Tamalpais, the Pacific Ocean.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates quality.

It was truly a home away from home. The staff treated us like old friends. We were exceedingly comfortable -- the pillows were especially awesome. Our room looked out at the bay. Love the location of the hotel, as well. My partner and I grew up in Marin, so we are very familiar with the surroundings and other options. We are looking forward to coming back again, staying longer, and bringing our dogs with us next time. Thanks so much, Holiday Inn Express, and Expedia for helping us out!
I rated this one highly because for the price, the comfort is unreal. The beds were superbly comfortable and new, the room came with a frig, microwave, flat screen TV, cable, comfy furniture, and despite it being on a main artery, the windows protected against the street noise. The rooms were spotless and smelled fresh. The furniture and carpets aren't the most fashion forward, but for the location, price, and comfort, grading it down for that is being small.
I graded the appearance slightly down as the parking lot and outer appearance make it look a little slummy, don't let that fool you. It's more comfy on the inside than it looks. My only complaint was I needed ice and I was handed a small bag instead of me being able to fill up the bags I needed for my cooler. For the money I saved on the hotel price, I could go buy a bag of ice for my cooler. and still be way ahead.
We stayed here for one night on a road trip from Southern California up the coast to Portland. The property apparently is an old-style motel (parking outside the rooms) that has been completely redone. The room and bathroom were small by today's standards, and would not be suitable for any more than 2 people. The room had a nice little balcony overlooking the courtyard and that made the room seem larger. Bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were immaculate. A full breakfast is provided, but it is in a restaurant a short distance away that isn't open in the mornings. It's a very easy walk, but it might be a little bit of hassle in bad weather. The breakfast was really good, providing both hot and cold options and fresh fruit. Also the restaurant gave plenty of seating, which can sometimes be a problem in other hotels. We didn't use the internet, so I can't comment on that.
the staff was super friendly and easy to talk to, every question I had was answered and I have no complaints whatsoever. The hotel room was spacious and comfortable, felt like home away from home. The pool, hot tub and outdoor seating area was beautiful. I wish I could have stayed longer. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in that area and next time I visit the city, I will definitely be staying at Marin Suites Hotel. Very much satisfied.
Set back from the street, this European style B & B was just perfect. Very quiet. The interior and furnishings were stylish and well done. Amenities were nice. The gentleman at the front desk took the time to help me figure where to eat; how to get there; how to get to the movie theatre afterwards, etc. Care. I would totally stay there again and recommend it to friends. A sweet find.
