The lamp on the table between the beds didn't work so I couldn't read in bed or anything, which I didn't like at all but I didn't discover this until I was ready to go to bed, then it was to late to call anyone to fix it. Otherwise, the room was very nice and I have no complaints.
The bed was comfortable. The room was purposeful and within tourist bus stops. On Lombard and it is a very busy road. The room was small and a bit run down. The breakfast was just continental and the eating space is small for the amount of travelers.
We came late at night, our room was not ready. Someone was already in the room they gave us. At midnight, it not funny to wakeup a stranger. Finally, they gave us another room that was kind of small to put a roller bed. The bathroom was full of mildew around the bath and on the ceiling. There was no soap. The staff did'nt try to accomodate us. Except for the location that is excellent, this hotel would not be my first choice fo my next trip to San Francisco.
We arrived late due to a problem on the plane, but we were greeted with such a lovely welcome, and helpful tips for meals and exploring. The area is perfect as a base, with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants and good transport links. The hotel provided a list of recommended places to eat, which we found really helpful. Our room was really large and very comfortable and clean. It was a quiet and relaxing place to come at the end of a busy day. We couldn't recommend this hotel more highly!
The hotel is centrally located near tourist spots and many restaurants. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would recommend a back facing room to help with some of the street noise. Earplugs are provided if needed. The 47 bus is one block north, where one can travel to the wharf area and south toward town and restaurants. The 3 day Muni pass was a perfect way to travel around town.
