Italy Golf Holidays

Room was clean, however walls are very thin and I had disturbed sleep almost every night. The first with neighbour talking in their room at 2:30 am, not loudly but I could hear every word. The second with torrential rain it sounded like there was a leak. Breakfast is very minimal. Dinner was priced very reasonably, if you love pizza this is the place for you. Staff were polite and helpful. Car parking available and given the cost of taxi's in Milan this would be the best choice for transport. Public transport not far away which again is considerably cheaper than taxi's. Short walk across the bridge to shops.

Our second visit to Parco San Marco as we loved it so much the first time! We were allocated the wrong room type on arrival but this was quickly rectified after first night and we were moved to the correct one in block L. Excellent room - great layout, well appointed kitchenette and lake views from both rooms. A car really is needed to be able to explore the area, get to shops, restaurants, supermarket etc. We loved our trip to Monte Tamaro for cable car, high ropes, toboggan and water park. Breakfast is always a highlight, so much choice and staff always very friendly and helpful. This is such a stunning resort. Never crowded despite high occupancy rates. Always space at pools, lake etc. Great facilities and something for all ages - family pool with slides, adult relax pool, lake with inflatable slide for older children, family spa, adult only spa. My 12 year old said it’s the perfect resort that’s got everything! Wonderful continental feel that makes holidaying here relaxing and memorable. Staff very attentive and helpful. Spacious apartment, close to the beach

Restaurant: I find the menu of the main restaurant not inspiring and too complicated. Each portion besides the spagettis seems to be made well in advance. The result is not bad, but sorry not "tasty" (like miam) that you want to come again. I chose for example the "Rombo", it was a little roll with one or two gamberis inside and a minuscule portion of rombo... 40 Euros. It tasted of all and nothing... I do not care about the price but I like the traditional italian cuisine. It is usually simple and tasty... maybe the restaurant should go back to the roots of Marema or Tuscani cuisine? simple, cooked on the spot.. olive oil...herbs... Yes we can go to the club house, there the cuisine is okay for the price but also not great italian cuisine. The setting is for drink and eat after golf not for dining out. In the main restaurant of the 5* I expect the food to be really tasty...it is today "inspired by nouvelle cuisine" , but far from it. It is anyway not fashion anymore... i dream to see on the menu a whole fish in the oven or a great filet or why not a coniglio in Autum. Staff is however always GREAT! I was alone, therefore was not motivated to go out alone for dinner in town, but if I am in the hotel with my wife we usually skip the restaurant and to to town. There are not too many good restaurants, just about 3 to 4 good ones between Orbetello and Porto Stefano (for example "la bussola", but it changed owner 2 years ago).
