Had a great stay here, spacious bedroom overlooking the countryside in a quiet location. Enjoyed the food and great atmosphere in the pub.

The staff at The Rose and Crown are some of the friendliest I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. We were down for a wedding, and they were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. The room was clean and quiet, and breakfast was cooked fresh. The village is small, and bit out of the way, but offers excellent walking trails.

Fabulous room, enormous comfortable bed, amazing bathroom, it was a real taste of luxury. Only one slight quibble, the breakfast was extra so we didn't bother.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. will be delighted to return sometime in the future

Lovely room (room 4), but needs a mirror over the chest of drawers so that you can use a hairdryer, as there is no mirror and plug together in that room. A coat hook on the back of the bathroom door and also a shelf in there would be useful. Always a pleasure to stay at this lovely hotel.

Easy access into city by car or public transport. I have mobility issues and the ground floor room was excellent, the car park was good plenty of spaces also local restaurants gave you choices to go to,overall the staff were excellent hotel was great would definitely go back again abig thank you to everyone who made our stay enjoyable 😉

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Millie, the friendly house cat. David was very welcoming, and the house & grounds were beautiful. The room and bathroom were both spotless, I've never been to a cleaner hotel. Everything you could need was provided, and we had a quiet sleep. If you have dry skin issues (dermatitis, eczema etc.) like myself, you might wish to bring your own toiletries as the ones provided were quite drying.

Could fault nothing. Excellent from first arrival(just to drop luggage off prior to check in to actual departure). Love hotel, Staff, accomadation, everything. Cant wait o go back.

Lovely hotel in a lovely location. Large room all the facilities were first class, free use of sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, etc which made the stay even more enjoyable. Will definitely be returning 👍

What a gem, nice quiet rural location but close enough to Newcastle / Gateshead. The room was spotless. No complaints whatsoever. Won’t hesitate going back

My husband and I stayed overnight and what a pleasant night it was. We were greeted with the friendly lady at the check in desk who arranged a booking in the restrurant, the room was cosy and very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel itself is beautiful both inside and out. Our meal at The Stables was delicious and our waiter was so helpful and super friendly, he even told us about the history of the hotel as we'd said we'd been to the Beamish Museum earlier that day and he...

Lovely room and bed very comfortable. I hadn't realised there was a pool so can't comment on that but it looked very clean and quiet. Very close to metro centre so ideal if that's what you are there for. Taxi to Quayside cost around £14 one way
