"We stayed for one night to visit this lovely village. The staff were lovely. The property is very nice and has a great garden area to sit in this warm weather.The evening meal was first class as was the full Yorkshire breakfast.Will be staying again soon im sure."

"We had a splendid stay at The Stable and would highly recommend it.Beforehand, I received clear, welcoming instructions from the host. When we arrived, everything was as expected in the pictures. It's a lovely, comfortable space equipped with everything you need. It was clean and honestly, felt new. We loved the exposed beams, the matching wooden furniture and having a dishwasher was a bonus. Whitby is a 3 mile walk through a wood and Cinder Track viaduct, which we did a couple of times. It's also well located for the coast, Scarborough, Pickering and more. Highly recommend this cottage for couples looking to explore this beautiful part of the country."

"Check in poor & disorganised. Key hadn’t been coded properly so we couldn’t enter room. Booked a table for 8pm in restaurant & sat at the same table for afternoon drinks, we knew this as it had our name on the reservation & time of booking, I even took a photo & sent it to my daughter. Came into the bar & my husband pointed out that 4 people were sat at our table eating a meal & went on to look at menu again. I mentioned this to bar lady & she said they will be finished by 8pm, I said I think not as looking at dessert menu. I went across & very politely said we had the table booked from 8pm, are you aware, lady at table said no. I said no worries & returned to bar. I spoke to the man behind the bar, Alex, & he said he had other tables. I explained that we would like the table allocated to us earlier on that we had seen. The bar lady then started speaking & when I replied she said she was serving another customer when in fact she was not I pointed out that she was warming milk in a jug, she said yes for another customer having coffee at their table. I continued to speak Alex & she chipped in, when she had stated she was dealing with another customer, I said shut up. I realise I should not have done but she was being very disagreeable. Alex had asked her who had altered the table & she said it was her. Spoke to Alex & said I no longer felt like eating after this, he said no problem, turned & walked away. This is unacceptable in hospitality, rude & unprofessional."

"The garden was in need of maintenance, it was difficult to access because of an overgrown holly bush all the way up the path. The hob was very rusty and didn’t get hot enough to cook on. We didn’t find a dryer, just the washing machine. The property just needed some TLC, it was in a lovely friendly village, the parking was difficult but that’s something that can’t be solved."

"We (4 siblings and 3 partners) spent a very enjoyable 4 nights at Larpool Mill. As previous guests have mentioned, the road outside is closed which makes for a very peaceful stay. The garden area is lovely and our only regret is that it was a bit too cold to spend much time outside. There’s plenty of space inside with lots of seating areas and a huge dining room - it’s all so very comfortable. It’s a very enjoyable 30 minute walk along the ‘Cinder track’ (an old railway line) into Whitby - though be aware that there’s a rather steep climb up to it from the house (5 of us are in our 70s!) but well worth the effort. Finally, Azmat, our host, was very helpful and answered any questions by return."
