The double aspect room was light & airy with views over the moor on one side & church yard on the other. The hospitality tray had a good selection of tea, coffee & water plus some delicious homemade sweet treats. Charlotte & Karen provided some really useful information on the area, local walks and eateries, all duly sampled during the course of our stay. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with a wide choice of options, hot or cold. Would definitely recommend a stay at Halmer if looking for somewhere in Goathland. Only two very minor quibbles- shower isnt a power shower and occasionally the stream would go weak, but buildings probably quite old. WiFi not the greatest, lots of dropouts unfortunately, but probably in a blackspot. Neither affected our stay.
