About this property
A luxury country cottage by the sea, 5 ensuite bedrooms, walkable to the harbour
A luxury 5 bedroom stone built property, formerly a flour mill dating back to early 1800,s. Set in 3/4 acre grounds the old mill is surrounded by woodland and a stream running through. Situated on the edge of Ruswarp and 6approx 1 mile from the harbour.
Larpool Mill has being lovingly restored to make a luxury 5 ensuite bedroom retreat which guests can enjoy the the best of both country and beach life.
Whilst renovating some of its industrial heritage was uncovered and restored and are featured in the property. The property has been luxuriously finished to a high standard just as it’s sister Misty Cottage in Whitby, the reviews on their alone speaks volumes.
There are 4 ensuite bedrooms in the mill and 1 ensuite bedroom in the annexe.
Spread over 3 floors, the ground floor comprises of a large kitchen/diner, a formal dining room which comfortably seats 12 and a lounge with inglenook fireplace and wood/coal burning stove. On the first floor there are 2 ensuite bedrooms. There is also a snug/library on this flooring with an IMac, printer, a tv and Nintendo Switch. We have 2 single guest beds which can be put up in this room (and could then be used as a 6th bedroom) . The beams that originally held the workings of the millstone have been restored and are a main feature in this room. On the second floor there are 2 ensuite bedrooms. Outside is the annexe with 1 ensuite bedroom. The gardens are secluded and there is parking for 5 cars on the drive.

The property was brilliant, everything to a very high standard and perfect for a big family holiday. Plenty of space inside for us all and the gardens are beautiful.
Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful mill restored to a fantastic standard Close to all amenities but set in lovely countryside next to a stream We have had a wonderful week in this 1st class accommodation plenty of room and everything you could possibly want for a brilliant break in wonderful Yorkshire
We stayed for 3 nights and loved every moment of our stay. The cottage has absolutely everything you could need and comfortably accommodated 9 adults and 5 children. We were blessed with sunshine so we got to enjoy the stunning garden, watching the children play in the stream. Absolutely perfect weekend.
Just arrived home after a 3 night stay at Larpool Mill; the most breathtaking accommodation we’ve ever booked. Our faces when we arrived said it all! This truly is a home-from-home equipped with everything you need inside and out, with very cute welcome goodies, ample space for a large family and tranquil outdoor setting for evening gatherings. The decor (as a cottage girl geek) was out of this world. Credit to the owners of this hidden gem. We will absolutely be returning. 10/10.
Beautiful, spacious renovated old mill.
Great outdoor space overlooking private stream.
Luxury bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms.
Large kitchen, dining room and 2 lounge areas.
An amazing stay with everything you could possibly want in a quiet, secluded area, close to Whitby.
Would thoroughly recommend and wiuld definitely stay again if in the area.
Thanks again

Had a lovely time, host thought of absolutely everything
Cottage and surrounding grounds were wonderful.
Ho wever on our booking it said there was a hot tub so we booked expecting a hot tub. Turns out there wasn't one. Had we known that we would have booked in Whitby itself rather than the outskirts,
Host was apologetic and website has been rectified,
We had a lovely stay, just not the one we were hoping for
Loved it, gorgeous furnishings very well equipped
Annex was ideal, great showers, shaving mirrors needed in bathrooms on upper floor was mentioned.
Grounds were idyllic, we could not fault it.
Spacious, clean, well equipped property in great grounds (complete with resident ducks and a roe deer one morning). Good location for just strolling to the village or walking to Whitby along the Cinder Track or via the railway. Azmat was responsive.
Larpool Mill is delightful, full of rustic charm without sacrificing comfort and convenience. The property is very spacious and well set out, everything one might need has been provided. The ‘welcome pack’ was a nice gesture too.The garden is large and the situation very quiet, especially so as the small road outside was closed to traffic while we were there. We enjoyed walking into Whitby along the ‘cinder track’ with our two dogs, who also had a great holiday. The weather was perfect and we barbecued one evening, enjoying sitting under the covered outside eating area, though the mozzies had a bit of a feast too!I would thoroughly recommend a stay at lovely Larpool Mill.
Fabulous property! Beautiful attention to detail. Lots of lovely pluses. The only thing I would comment on is the 6th bedroom beds are really only suitable for children and not adults.
Otherwise a perfectly wonderful stay!
From the moment we came down the hill and saw Larpool Mill, we knew we were in for an absolute treat. This amazing building is just beautiful - from the location and outdoor facilities, to the extensive rooms, en suite bathrooms, fantastic kitchen with everything you could ever need provided for you and more. Plus a welcome basket with wine, cake, biscuits etc and some milk in the fridge. I could go on and on …..
The owner, Azmat, is also charming beyond words.
We have had a fantastic family weekend and made some beautiful memories.
Thank you,
Ann Youell and family xx
Beautifully renovated and well-equipped property, set in lovely gardens with stream which we managed to enjoy despite the tail end of storm Dennis. It was the perfect place for a family getaway to celebrate my Mom's Birthday. Ideal for all age groups, with plenty of games (the megadrive was a great trip down memory lane) and plenty of space for everyone to sit together, but also have some peace and quiet if needed. It was lovely and cosy with the log burner but would also love to come back in the future and enjoy the property in the summer. I bet the gardens will look fantastic once finished!
Every room has a beautifully decorated en-suite but a bath in one of them would be handy - purely for bathing young children.
Thank you for a wonderful few days away!
The cottage is stunning and the location is perfect for what we needed. The separate chalet with one of the double rooms was useful for this as it meant my parents didn't have to manage lots of stairs. Its a 20 minute walk outside of Whitby (mostly downhill after a sharp uphill, remember that on the way back!) and that walk is very picturesque with some great views across the countryside.Currently the narrow lane alongside the cottage is closed to vehicles, which if anything is a good thing as the road is even quieter than it might be - it'll slightly slow up your drive if you want to head to the Abbey though. The garden is large and the covered pergola means you can enjoy sitting outside with the BBQ even if the weather is a little changeable. When we were there we saw ducklings on the little stream that runs through the garden. It is possible to have 2 extra beds put up on the mezzanine "snug" - but I'd say these are only suitably sized for children and if they're up there than noisy adults in the living room below might keep them awake. It worked fine for us, but something worth bearing in mind.
The description does not do it justice; from getting there and walking in the door, the thought that has clearly gone into this place is truely outstanding and a credit to the team that put it together.
We had a fantastic long weekend for a major family birthday. Very comprehensively catered for kitchen and lovely Welcome pack. Just dont forget to feed the ducks.
Beautiful property is a lovely location just 5 minutes from Whitby. The house is decorated to perfection and even the smallest of details had been considered. We’d love to return!
Perfect location for an 80th birthday celebration. The house was full of character, decorated and furnished to the highest standard, whilst remaining comfortable and homely. Would highly recommend!
What a stunning place...from the moment you pass through the gate it's magical.
Absolutely everything one needs for a memorable stay......
Great for Murder Mystery......large and natural outdoor space....spacious and cosy at the same time...and warm.
From all of us.......
Thankyou
