"It was ok but not luxurious. I would not expect a luxury hotel to provide very basic and cheap toilet paper in your bathroom. Or a full breakfast to include streaky bacon and no baked beans. The Beach House felt like a leisure centre. Enjoyable stay but not value for money."

"We had a wonderful stay. Easy instructions, helpful host and a lovely room to stay in. Very clean and the bed was comfy. Blessed also with glorious weather in October!! The only point I’d raise was the water pressure in the shower wasn’t great but it worked and was hot!! Will definitely rebook!!"

"Clean room and bathroom. Nice view of the river and Whitby from the window! Plenty of coffee and tea in the room. Breakfast was great too! My only complaint is the bed was hard, ended up sleeping on top of the comforter."

"Lovely clean room, everything you could need. First night was lovely, second night, which I know the owners cannot do anything about, but 2 smokers booked in and because we were near the front door, we were disturbed every 30-45 mins with them going out for a cigarette and being outside talking at 6.30am Saturday morning. Apart from that would stay again"

"The room was described as a “comfort room “ we loved it! It was surprisingly spacious enough, beautiful decor and soft furnishings. The bedding and towels quality were exceptional. Hospitality tray and outlook were lovely. If I had to give a small negative, there was a slight odour in the bathroom, from probably the cloths/ mops used to clean, a bit “ sweaty socks” type of odour which lingered. On another practical preference negative, the restaurant is beautiful, ambient and amazing service from the young well trained and mentored staff….but….the wine glasses were a let down, please provide sophisticated wine glasses? That would be great."

"Such a lovely hotel , staff are great especially serving, I did like this that special touch , great that you can park just across from the hotel , not much of a walk into Whitby , rooms are spotless, maybe could do with a update but very comfortable thanks for welcoming us"

"Lovely room and shower, tea/ coffee facilities, hairdryer and even an iron and ironing board. Access to room even if pub is closed. In centre of Whitby, very convenient. Definitely recommended"
