"The staff and food at dinner were lovely. Breakfast wasn’t run at quite the same standard with a lot of mistakes and delays on orders. The room was nice, although the finer details could do with a bit more attention (dust in corners, dirty grout in bathroom). Bed nice and comfy, unfortunately we were near the road so a bit noisy but that can’t be helped. My only critique is cereal was offered in the room, but not enough milk packets to enjoy it. We would definitely stay here again. "

"Why do hotel designers think it is OK to have an ensuite bathroom with no door? A curtain is not an adequate replacement for a door. This was a big issue for us. Also the only seating in our room was 1 dining chair and 1 stool when there was room for something more comfortable. I don't want to have to sit on the bed, particularly at the price this hotel came in at. Everything else was very good."

Bas and his chef Derek bent over backwards to accommodate during what was a very difficult time for them at the tail end of the second lockdown. With no other staff to support them, and making preparations for the reopening, they still found time to make sure I had access to evening meals and breakfast, despite the fact they had no reason to open the kitchen, just to serve me. "Excellent location for our day at Hatfield House. Only one drawback was that we had to enter our rooms via the fire escape which had 2 flights of metal stairs which was quite difficult in the rain carrying suitcases. Otherwise everything else was good. The staff were lovely and very professional."
