The SnowDome in Tamworth is the United Kingdom's premier snow and ice leisure experience. Whether you are looking for an action packed day on the snow or one spent relaxing in the luxurious spa, the SnowDome will provide an unforgettable experience.
Included within the complex is a 170m indoor ski slope (complete with real snow!) and two nursery slopes. As well as skiing and snowboarding, you can also race your family and friends in steerable toboggans or snow tubing: inflatable tubes that provide the fastest snow experience around.
Separate to the ski slopes, the children's play area is made for sledging, sliding and snowball fights. SnowDome Fitness is a huge outdoor gym with a range of hi-tech facilities and a 25m swimming pool. Away from the snow, there is also a stunning Ice Arena which houses a large ice rink as well as Britain's only ice track. And when you need to refuel, SnowDome has a range of restaurants and bars serving fresh meals, light snacks and desserts.
Easy to Get to By Car
Reaching The SnowDome by car is pretty simple as it's only five minutes' drive from junction 10 of the M6 toll or M42. From there, follow the signs to Tamworth where you will see brown information signs to the SnowDome itself. Alternatively, Birmingham International Rail Station is around 18 miles away and Tamworth Station is only around one mile away. The most local airports are East Midlands (28 miles) and Birmingham International (18 miles).
The SnowDome is Open Every Day Except Christmas Day, from 9am Until 11pm.
After all that exercise you’re going to need somewhere to rest and relax, and Tamworth has plenty of decent accommodation on offer. You can also head out a little further to explore Staffordshire hotels in Stafford and Lichfield. Hotels range from two, three and four star accommodation for families and groups, right up to a stay at the luxury five star Pipe Hill House B&B in Lichfield.
While holidaying in the area, The SnowDome is one of the best attractions around. In terms of value for money and fun, it is right up there with the best Staffordshire can offer, such as Cannock Chase, Drayton Manor Theme Park and Alton Towers.
