"New Place isn’t a grand hotel like you might think from viewing the main building. But it’s very good. Staff are great, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good, dinner is very good. Grounds are very pleasant."

"This eccentric hotel was very clean. The two onsite restaurants were both very good. The concierge staff was successful in getting us a cab to get to our cruise ship on time. The only negatives were: 1) I did not receive a response to an inquiry about cruise shuffles before our arrival and 2) guest services did not tell us that our room was at the top of a steep flight of stairs. We had to return to the front desk for a bellman and did not get our luggage for another 2 hours."

"Lovely spacious room with loft space for the kids. Well appointed kitchen space. Only disappointment was the breakfast for the cost. Not worth booking breakfast when booking the room. Perfect place to sort your own food though."

"The staff were very helpful, the only (first world problems) issue we found was the shower - the pressure drops and you get no water and then 2 minutes later it comes back on. Our room was good, reasonably comfy. One of the bar staff was a bit snippy but the bar was very busy. Overall we would stay at This chain again."

"Enjoyed our pre-cruise stay at this property. The location is great and the staff was incredible. The fish and chips in the dining room was good also. We only experienced one hiccup-one of our suitcases was missing from the storage area when we went to collect it after breakfast. The staff and manager worked diligently to find it and after 45 minutes of worry, the team found it in a secondary storage area."

"Very tiny double room. Would not want to stay there more than one night. Last time we stayed at the same place, the room was huge. Unfortunately it was very hot; 27°c in the room due to there being warm weather outside. There was a fan but it didn’t bring the temperature down! There was a window open but only a top window so no air came through. Also, the towel rail in the bathroom was heated so it was even hotter in there! The bed was very comfortable & the cooked breakfast was good."

"Lovely large room. Spacious comfortable bed. Bathroom spacious. Good shower. Improvements? No mini fridge in room. Sealant in bathroom mouldy. Needs replacing."

"Excellent value for money, stayed here last 10 cruises, because it's just the right distance from the cruise port. Nice cooked breakfast thrown in aswell."
