Salzburg in Austria is a beautiful, fairytale-like town that’s rich in culture and history. It is also the birthplace of world-famous composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His actual birthplace can be found in the UNESCO World Heritage Site listed historical centre. Besides Mozart's house, this Old Town bursts with baroque architecture, with gems like Salzburg Cathedral and the medieval fortress Hohensalzburg.
The hotel supply in the historic city is about 50 properties, mainly three and four star hotels. Typically you’ll find luxury hotels with breakfast included and (24-hour) room services, within walking distance of Getreidegasse. This famous shopping street is filled with tall, stately homes and is the place you’ll find Mozart's former home (now a museum).
Want to treat your loved one to a romantic hotel with sauna, health club and full-service spa? Salzburg is the place to be! You’ll find a good selection near Mirabell Palace, which offers wonderful views over the Old Town and Hohensalzburg.
Music is a massive part of Salzburg’s character, and we recommend you visit during the Salzburg Festival where you’ll hear beautiful renditions of Mozart’s most famous works. Or you can join a Sound of Music tour and see all the film’s most famous locations, including the former home of the musical Von Trapp family.
In the south of the city you’ll find Leopoldskron, a grand and ornate palace that is a national historic landmark with a beautiful lake. Around it is located about 10 properties, mainly four star hotels, some of which have a Turkish bath and free WiFi.
You can also choose to stay next to the airport in Salzburg, WA Mozart. The hotel supply in this convenient location consists primarily of three and four star hotels, catering specially to business travellers.
