"Excellent hotel and staff in very good location "
Arrived early and met with friendly staff who allowed us to our room, great start.
Hotel is in a great location close to old town, bars, cafes, shops and restaurants. Hotel is very nice, rooms comfortable and kept very clean. There is a Spa of which is stunning and you must make the use of.
Breakfast was very good with good range of foods.
Staff very attentive and friendly.
If we return to Salzburg we will book this hotel again, highly recommended.
Stayed here before many years ago. Thought it wasn't quite up to the standard of our last stay. Breakfast was now served on the rooftop terrace instead of the big function room and while the choice and quantity was fine, wasn't up to the same standard of our previous visit. Location one of the best in town and will use again
Little bit of a walk to get anywhere, not too bad though. Room was fairly spacious and bathroom had a full sized tub/shower. Attached restaurant was ok, apple strudel could've been better. TV didn't work, but no big deal, we weren't there to watch tv.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Amadeus. Hotel staff, especially Natalie, were exceptional. We were able to get tickets for tours at the front desk (don't miss the Sound of Music tour - it was great), and they were very responsive to all needs. The hotel is on the walking street (Linzergasse), and a short (5 min) walk to the "old" section of Salzburg. The restaurant downstairs was excellent - great Minestrone soup and breakfasts were very good with great assortments of breads. The only drawback was that it was right next to the church and the church bells go off between 6am - 6pm, but after one night it isn't an issue. I'd stay here again as it is very comfortable and a great value for the price.
Older hotel, yet quiet and comfortable. Easy walk to sightseeing locations. My daughter went for early morning runs, down to and along the river path. Good restaurants nearby, recommended by the hotel staff. We arrived in Salzberg, via train, late at night and in the rain. Not sure how to get to the hotel we hired a cab. So worth the 7€. ! We easily walked back to the train station, in the daylight and having become familiar with the city.
The key was an actual key, very large. We had not been told that the key needed to be inserted into an in-room key slot to access electricity to the room. Just something new to us, but made perfect sense.
Breakfast was sufficient but the room was cramped.
great location, short walk to train mainline station and bus garage. and into main area for sightseeing, no need to use transport unless wanting to actually go out of Salzburg. there are restaurants very near, all reasonable, lovely all you can eat chinese practically over the road, fantastic value. hotel had odd arrangement of having to order drinks at reception to have in bar area, due to only the one reception staff on at any one time. hotel does not allow use of your own kettle, very annoying! they are also very mean with towels, one small bath towel and one hand towel per person. plus side, bed very comfortable, water and shower hot and powerful. nice and quiet hotel, although my friend in another room was woken most mornings from about 7am but what we think was the bin collection and laundry, but went on for two hours nearly. lovely italian restaurant in next street walking towards mirabelle gardens, too very reasonable.

Salzburg's Old Town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. Its main shopping street, the Getreidegasse, is one of the busiest shopping streets in Europe. Mozart's Birthplace is also on this street and can be toured. Other top draws include the Salzburg Cathedral and the Hohensalzburg Castle, which towers above the Old Town, offering wonderful views of the city.
