I visited Salzburg with my wife for a long weekend and stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. very comfortable rooms, perhaps adding a kettle with some selection of tea bags/coffee could be nice complement for the guests.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. I left one of my belongings in the safe and was notified immediately and then the item was send to the UK on my home address by the courier service - very efficient and trustworthy.
I could not say enough good things about this hotel...even with the 1500 characters allowed. My husband and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for one night in September 2015, during a ten day trip through Germany and Austria. The location of the hotel was perfect. We were able to stay in a panoramic suite during our stay - the views were amazing, the room outstanding and the rain shower and bathtub in our room where fantastic (especially after many hotels with very small showers). I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Salzburg...and if you can upgrade the panoramic suite!
Staff were a bit cold and mechanical which was not typical of most of the people I interacted with in Salzburg. They did provided answers to the questions I asked but just seemed very disinterested and a bit annoyed. Room was decent though I had requested a higher room to avoid street noise. Had also requested a room with view of the river though I didn't exactly expect it. The noise from street on the backside of the hotel was a bit annoying from my second story room. Not a horrible experience but I might look for other options next time I'm in Salzburg. If there for a short stay I might still recommend it for others.
Lovely hotel, walking distance to all the local attractions and some great restaurants. Staff went out of there way to be helpful and friendly. Arrived early was informed our room was ready by 10 am. Room was a great size out the back looking over a church yard, very quite except for the bells, but they didn't ring during the night. There was little balcony with a small table and chairs. Great size bathroom with bath and shower. Health suite was very good with a small pool and steam and sauna. Breakfast was very good, nice selection of continental and cooked. Would diffidently stay again
Older hotel, yet quiet and comfortable. Easy walk to sightseeing locations. My daughter went for early morning runs, down to and along the river path. Good restaurants nearby, recommended by the hotel staff. We arrived in Salzberg, via train, late at night and in the rain. Not sure how to get to the hotel we hired a cab. So worth the 7€. ! We easily walked back to the train station, in the daylight and having become familiar with the city.
The key was an actual key, very large. We had not been told that the key needed to be inserted into an in-room key slot to access electricity to the room. Just something new to us, but made perfect sense.
Breakfast was sufficient but the room was cramped.
This is a terrific little hotel (the building dates back to the mid 1300s) where you can park the car and forget about moving it until you're ready to leave. Alt Stadt is a five minute walk and there are loads of restaurants to keep you well fed and lubricated. The staff of the restaurant is terrific and helpful in every way. Breakfast is very good and I'd recommend that you have Isabel make you some of the best bacon and eggs you've ever had. The rooms were very nice and beds comfortable. If you're looking for five-star amenitites in every room this isn't the place but if you want a great little hotel in the middle of everything, this is your place. There were four of us and we couldn't have been more pleased with everything.

Salzburg's Old Town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. Its main shopping street, the Getreidegasse, is one of the busiest shopping streets in Europe. Mozart's Birthplace is also on this street and can be toured. Other top draws include the Salzburg Cathedral and the Hohensalzburg Castle, which towers above the Old Town, offering wonderful views of the city.
