Mozart's birthplace charms visitors with its baroque architecture and 'Sound of Music' filming locations. Take the funicular up to Hohensalzburg Fortress for Alpine views before exploring the enchanting Old Town cafés.
We stayed in one of the hotel apartments for 9 nights. It was nicely decorated, spacious, with a comfortable bed and handy kitchenette area with fridge. The location was great. We could easily walk into town and had a great choice of buses and the train station nearby. There were bakeries nearby and an excellent pizza place called Lievitamente a few minutes walk from the hotel. It just had a few tables for dining in, but the pizzas tasted amazing (best dough). We had a drink at the hotel bar one...

I stayed at the Hyperion during a last minute trip to Salzburg. The hotel is beautiful and the staff amazingly attentive. It is in a brilliant location- across the road from Mirabell palace and gardens and approximately a 10 minute stroll through the gardens and over the footbridge to reach the old town. Panorama tours check in and pick up spot is literally a one minute walk and if you want to catch the airport bus, it is in the same area.
The room and hotel environment are spotlessly clean. The...

Super welcome, fantastic 'Tower Room'. There is only one such room and it has panoramic views of Salzburg and environs. Breakfast, service, friendliness all first rate. A small hike out of town, but well worth it!

Absolutely a fantastic experience from start to finish, the staff were extremely polite and helpful
The owners were on site and made us feel at home, on arrival the owners daughter booked us in and I have to say she is a real credit to her parents
Thank you for a brilliant experience

Red roses, champagne, duvet folded in shape of heart with rose petals arranged around it...unexpected for our wedding anniversary. View from our window was of river, castle, and old town. Perfect room in everyway. All the staff were friendly and helpful in everyway. Could not fault hotel in anyway. Best hotel we have ever stayed in on our travels over the years

A lovely old building (1429!) stacked with history. Great location and the staff were all really friendly and happy to share their knowledge about the town. Would highly recommend.

We love this hotel for many reasons: location is perfect, the warmth and kindness and helpfulness of the staff, the size of the rooms and bathroom, wonderful extra touches, fantastic restaurant. It is the embodiment of old world, elegant charm.

A second visit to the Blaue Gans - our 'go to' hotel when in Salzburg. A direct bus line from the airport drops you right outside the door - and your then based within an easy walk of all the main attractions in the old town.
Fantastic staff throughout, with an extremely helpful reception team to help you get the most from your visit.
Comfortable rooms, beautiful, simple, and with great design. If just there for a long weekend a 'regular room' will be perfectly adequate as they all have...

A cosy ,simple, single, room with every little detail though of - and had an Austrian feel - not just the ‘standard.’ Could not have been any cleaner.
Central. Friendly, helpful staff. I was on my own - a few days stay - and did not need to use the restaurant but I could see it was busy - what better recommendation?
