"Excellent resort complex"
The Barcelo Resorts complex was an excellent place to vacation. The ocean frontage and overall footprint of the resort(s) are huge. Club Premium was worth the price just for the check-in process alone, let alone all the added goods, discounts, services, and wifi that came with it.
Many of the things are on the Palace Deluxe side, but there is a covered walkway that goes from the last building in the adults-only side to the rooms all the way over by the golf course at the family side. Just know there's a lot of walking to be done, or hitching a ride on their tram train. Most restaurants, spa, fitness center, water activities, golf, bowling, casino, big theater, and more are all on the family side and worth visiting.
The amenities offered at the whole resort are pretty amazing, so regardless if you stay on the adults-only side or the family side, everything is open to all, except no kids running around the adults-only side. Mini golf, laser tag, a gorgeous 18 hole golf course, bowling lanes, many other games throughout, and water activities (kayaking, catamaran, windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba) are all included.
Apparently they don't guarantee beds, because I had thought we were getting a king bed, and ended up with 2 doubles pushed together. Not sure if that was a function of Expedia or the resort, but someone should clarify that. Also walls and floors are very thin, you can hear everything above and next door except talking (furniture moving, walking, closets opening, etc).
