Recently stayed at the Hilton in La Romana and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel is beautiful, the location is excellent, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay despite a few minor inconveniences. The hotel has many positive qualities, though there is some room for improvement.

The hotel was really nice, quiet and clean. Not too many people during the week which allowed for a quiet and restful stay. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. They were able to coordinate transportation and excursions which was extremely helpful.

Hotel has a gym and pool, both very nice. Although the entrance to the property needs a facelift. Add more flowers, plants, the name of the hotel is not posted. An old boat by the gates I would suggest get an artist to create an interesting monument. Hotel lobby is clean, lobby furniture clean, only one restaurant tables and chairs neat and clean.

One of the worst stays. It took about an hour to check in. We booked a room with 2 beds and were confirmed this accommodation. When we got there after 3 PM we were instructed to wait while the room was still being prepared. After waiting for around 40 minutes and having no one give us an updated I checked back with them and they then informed us that they didnt have a room with two beds and the best they could do is wheel a cot into an inferior room than the one I booked. No accommodation for this inconvenience was offered and none was granted when requested. Nice location, pretty view from the rear of the hotel. But poorly run, incredibly slow service, and some of the worst food I have ever eaten. Overpriced frozen food. Only the roasted veggies were edible. No authentic cuisine of the area is available. Next time we are in the Dominican Republic we will look for better options.
