This property is like the Jewel in the Crown!!
Firstly, don't be put off by the small number of excellent reviews as it has only opened this year. The hosts, Katy and Olivier, were both working in England for many years at a high quality and popular hotel in the Yorkshire Dales. Katy's family owned this Yorkshire hotel and Olivier was the head chef. When the family sold the Hotel, Katy & Olivier returned to his native France and then the Maison du canal du midi was born. Lovely hotel in an excellent location, just a short walk into the old town but also on a street with plenty of amenities of its own. Free parking nearby in the Place Barbicane which was easy to find and close to the hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and local products. The hotel garden was beautiful, and a cute if very small roof terrace too from which you can get a view of the city walls.

Absolutely fantastic 2-day stay in the Royal Suite at Le Château de La Seigne. It’s only a 10-minute drive from Carcassonne, and Ubers had no trouble picking us up right at the gate quickly.
The château itself is stunning and beautifully restored, packed with character and cool features like vintage restored cars in the entrance garage, a working old-school jukebox near the hall and a characterful staircase up to the upper rooms.

Staff very friendly. Room was spacious and next to a beautiful tranquil garden.
Very conveniently located in the middle of the Cité yet an escape from the crowds.
Could not have been better.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable with beautiful views.
The breakfast was charged extra and there was plenty of cereal, bread, cheese, meats, fruits and yoghurts etc. It is over 4 km from Carcassone and buses are infrequent but there is plenty of parking if you take a car.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this first class hotel. The staff were professional, treated us well and with respect. There were many occasions when we were able to engage in humorous banter with members of staff and this we appreciated. Our room was in a quiet location at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden. The breakfasts were of top quality and offered a great choice.

BJ and Iris were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The setting was great with wonderful views and a stones throw from Carcassonne city. Breakfast was wonderful with home made jams.
BJ was also very kind to re freeze our ice packs for the onward journey. We will definitely be back.

Just returned from a few days here - great little hotel, only 300m from La Cite de Carcassone's medieval walls. Really easy to get to and from as it is on the main road east out of Carcassonne (but it is extremely quite). Rooms are good, superb air-con, very clean and spacious, with hairdryer and toiletries provided. Ours had a mini kitchenette with fridge, sink, hotplate and microwave. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nightlife and restaurants is 300m away in La Cite. Breakfast is the usual...

Excellent hotel, 3 minutes from main entrance in to the city. Our room had a small garden with table and chairs to sit out in and enjoy a glass of wine. Private parking within a secure compound. Our room was excellent, well appointed and very clean. Hotel staff are excellent and the breakfast was the best we had on our whole trip. 10/10

We initially had problems finding it due to our Satnav but it's so well located near Carrefour and the main road to the walled city. Excellent value for money.

Wonderful hosts, couldn’t have been more accommodating. Great room, great location, despite the heat we managed to stay cool, had use of the pool. Would recommend to stay here if you are ever in the area.
