Beautiful family run hotel in an excellent location close to the city walls. Bars and restaurants on your doorstep and lovely little cafe opposite for breakfast. Hotel breakfast is 13 euros per person, substantial buffet breakfast well worth the money. Just an 8 minute walk into the city with lots of beautiful restaurants. Would recommend Hotel Du Pont Vieux to anyone visiting Carcassonne and would definitely stay again if returning.

The location was fantastic, and the room was quite large. The owner gave some excellent restaurant suggestions. Don't underestimate those stairs, although it does prepare you to walk up to the medieval town.

This small hotel is right at the base of the medieval city of Carcassonne, and had amazing views of the ramparts from our room and from a small roof terrace. Staff were really helpful with directions and recommendations for restaurants. The walls between rooms were a little thin, but the location was so quiet that we could sleep with the windows open. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a small hotel, and the beautiful garden next to the breakfast room was truly delightful. Highly recommended!

We were given a really warm welcome plus a map with recommendations of where we could eat our evening meal, which were all excellent. The breakfast buffet cost €13 and was well worth the money as there was plenty of choice of drinks and food - including eggs, cheese, ham, yoghurt and different fresh seasonal fruits. We have no hesitation in recommending this charming old hotel.

We stayed here with a family of four - the beds were great, updated and super clean bathroom and very kind service. It wasn’t super hot when we visited so can’t speak to the AC under hot weather. But was great for us. Would definitely recommend for! Small rooms of course but to be expected. The rooftop terrace offers spectacular views of Carcassonne!

Our short, one night stay was pain free other than the climb to the third floor. The room was clean and well appointed and the air conditioner was functional for the main cabin of room 20. Parking on site for 14 Euro made everything easy!

Beautiful view from the top terrace of the castle walls but too hot to linger when we were there in July. Helpful host when parking car in their garage. Really short walk up to the castle. This family-run hotel is clean and pleasant. The rooftop terrace with the view of La Cite is a very pleasant place to spend evening time. It was about a fifteen minute mostly uphill walk to La Cite, shorter and easier coming back down. There are several good restaurants very near the hotel, and more up in La Cite. We are truly happy we chose this hotel.
