"Lovely friendly hotel. The dining room was a lovely space with a log burner and you could take your dog. We had an afternoon tea, evening meal and breakfast. All excellent meals. Wine a bit pricey though. We had a double aspect room overlooking the Wye - view beautiful especially with the autumn colours. The Butchers Arms

3.0 star property

"I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). "

7.0 out of 10, Good, (2)
"Property was not well looked after. Blinds were missing from Windows, surfaces had not been cleaned, the kitchen was missing many essential items such as forks, broken glass outside the back door, last guests dirty laundry left in the dinning room, the list goes on. Really put a downer on the first day of the holiday. I don't expect to have to provide essentials like forks and kitchen knives and clean on arrival. Manager of property was initially understanding but is now ignoring my emails."

"Inside was nicely decorated and clean. Outside a bit shabby - rotten window sills, gutters need clearing, patio furniture in very poor condition. Outside seating area needed weeding. The Apple TV was a pain when we wanted to watch live TV."

"Amazing communication - so helpful with answering queries and providing and booking activities. Accommodation was clean and spacious. We loved that we could all eat round one table. Our was extremely helpful that Sian took in the online order before we arrived. I recommend taking the directions of the bunkhouse from their main website as it can be a little tricky to find. A great weekend for my sister's hen do!!! Thank you"
