The best area to stay in Mouxy is generally around the town centre and the immediate vicinity of Lac du Bourget.

Mouxy itself is a smaller, residential commune, so the "best" area often refers to properties that offer convenient access to the lake and its activities while still providing a pleasant and relaxed setting. This typically means looking for accommodations situated between the main village and the lake's eastern shore, particularly those with views towards the water or the surrounding mountains.

For couples seeking a tranquil escape with scenic beauty, staying in a gîte or a boutique hotel close to the lake offers an ideal setting. You'll find opportunities for leisurely strolls along the shoreline, boat trips on the lake, and enjoying meals with picturesque backdrops. The area around Port de la Mouette is particularly pleasant for accessing lake activities and dining options.

Families will also find this area suitable, especially if they enjoy outdoor activities. Many accommodations here provide easy access to hiking and cycling paths, and the lake offers various water sports.

The best time to visit Mouxy is typically during the summer months, from June to September, for pleasant weather and a wide range of outdoor activities.

During this period, the weather is generally warm and sunny, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region. Temperatures usually range from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius, superb for enjoying Lake Bourget, which is a key attraction in the area. You'll find opportunities for swimming, boating, and paddleboarding on the lake.

For couples, the summer offers a romantic setting with long evenings for lakeside dinners and walks. The surrounding hills, part of the Bauges Regional Natural Park, are superb for hiking or cycling, providing stunning views of the lake and the nearby Alps. Many local vineyards are also open for tastings during these months, offering a delightful experience.

Families will also find summer an excellent time to visit. The warm weather allows for full enjoyment of the lake's beaches and water sports. There are also numerous family-friendly walking trails and adventure parks in the vicinity. The town of Aix-les-Bains, just a short drive from Mouxy, often hosts summer events and markets, adding to the entertainment options.
