"Amazing view but otherwise left much to be desired. There are about 20 steep steps with narrow treads down to the apartment. Carrying luggage up and down was very challenging particularly as Torquay is not the kind of resort that attracts younger guests. Street parking is a lottery with not sufficient spaces for the large number of apartments. After circling for over half an hour we eventually had no option other than park illegally.Communication with the host was excellent until I pointed out...

The Grand Hotel

8/10 Good

"Unfortunately we had a room with a boring view of a worn roof towards the train station, even though we had chosen an upgrade. Maybe because we used earned bonus nights, I don't know. But the room was nice, good size and nicely clean. But we especially enjoyed the whole area by the bar. It was bright and airy here and had lots of good seating. Lovely breakfast buffet"

"always stay here , good location in good condition for a older hotel , double bed was a little small but we have stayed in dulux rooms before we only stayed in april for 5 nights but had a quick night away this time on the way to cornwall , on a hill so be aware if you struggle to walk but a good walk into town and amazing views we love this hotel and torquay"

"Room was good with everything your need. Need was very comfortable and room was nice and clean. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice of hot and cold offerings. Parking is good with it's own carpark. The only downside was we were woken at 02.20 on the morning by the fire alarm going off due to somebody smoking on their room. Not the hotels fault just some inconsiderate guest with no respect for other guests in the hotel so can't really blame the hotel for that . At least we know the fire alarm works😄"
