"Fantastic staff, restaurant and location. A perfect hotel to visit Southampton or spend a night or two before a cruise. The restaurant on sight is also excellent. Other restaurants are in walking distance as well as shopping and museums."

"New Place isn’t a grand hotel like you might think from viewing the main building. But it ’s very good. Staff are great, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good, dinner is very good. Grounds are very pleasant."

"A short overnight stay. Welcome was as expected. Car park was full so we had to pay to park on the road which was annoying. Room was clean and well equipped. Shower did not drain properly so you had to wash quickly! Some aspects of the repairs/maintenance were tired and not what you would expect from a 4* stay - but perhaps standards are lower these days?!"
