Very nice traditional Manor hotel. Only thing that marred the stay was that they insisted on charging my son's card with a GBP 20 holding fee, even though I had paid for the room in advance. When he queried this they did not really explain why that was necessary.

Upon arrival . we were greeted with happy anniversary from the two girls behind ...
Although we arrived late, we were greeted warmly and directed to our nicely renovated modern clean room. We ordered room service and received yummy food promptly. The beds were comfy and we slept well!

The design and decor of the old part ...
We had two rooms and both were very nice. Quaint little hotel with lots of charm. Breakfast was included and was very, very good. The staff were all helpful and accommodating. There was noise each evening from the pub but we can't complain as we knew the hotel was on a Main Street and had popular ...

When people think of romantic holidays they tend to have somewhere like Bali, Venice or Nice in mind, but the reality is that there’s plenty of holiday romance to be had a lot closer to home if you live in the United Kingdom. Hertfordshire is full of it, for example, from the picturesque ruins of castles and abbeys, churches and palaces that bedeck the gently undulating landscape to exclusive restaurants in historic towns like St. Albans.
Romance takes on many guises, and as long as you have a comfortable base and plenty to see and do on your doorstep you have all the makings of a beautiful friendship - or more! Whether you're wooing afresh or celebrating an anniversary milestone, or indeed just want a pleasant break with a loved one, look no further than a Hertfordshire romantic hotel.
A romantic hotel in Hertfordshire will have all the services and facilities you require to reignite any relationship, or set a new one on the right tracks. Of course you'll have plenty of opportunities for candlelit meals, and a guest violinist may even be laid on! But a good relationship can manage without some of the more obvious props and all you really need is decent weather and plenty of things to see and do together. Fortunately, Hertfordshire's climate is a pretty benign one as English weather goes, so you're guaranteed sunshine for most of the year. Staying at a Hertfordshire romantic hotel you'll also have all manner of great attractions within easy reach. Stately homes and gardens tend to go well with romantic breaks, and with piles like Hatfield House and Knebworth nearby you won't be short on those.
Hertfordshire is hard to beat when it comes to romantic breaks. As well as a landscape dotted with ruins that look like settings from a Gothic novel, historic towns like St. Albans are full of interest too. A romantic hotel in Hertfordshire such as St. Michaels Manor Hotel in St. Albans or The Grove in Watford are the perfect setting for a romantic break here.
