The hotel looks amazing from the outside. Reception staff were lovely and helpful. The room we stayed in was very nice, large with comfortable beds and new bathroom and all very clean. However this is where the cleanliness stops around the pool was dirty, cold water (freezing in fact) and a broken light floating in the pool. Breakfast was a disaster dirty glasses, no plates, bowls staff not knowing what they were doing. On the first morning we were given a suggested time of 10am to try and not have all guests at breakfast a good idea I thought so we went at 10, no pastries left (didn’t get filled up), only rice crispies and cold cooked breakfast. We went at 9 second day more choice but still not great! Chaos again having to ask for glasses (which were dirty when they came), bowls, cutlery! The communal areas are tired and in need of a refurb. could be an amazing hotel as the grounds are lovely with peacocks roaming (albeit noisy) but definitely not 4 star at present when you pay over £550 for two nights I expect a bit more luxury.
