"Everything was ideal with this property and if you want to walk into Cartmel it’s also close enough to do so… it does seem a lot longer walking back from Cartmel however after you have sampled the excellent local ales 😬"
"Lovely position and inside rooms were good. The let downs were the outside areas entering the property the steps were grubby and dirty so a bit offputting, also the outside patio area was unusable due to it being overgrown and dirty. INSIDE the only fault was lack of tv information and no visable welcome book in veiw. We found the book just by chance a black book on a black stool in the corner of the kitchen.put it in full veiw"
"Absolute Gem of a place, super clean, cosy and lovely little village Cark is, this was a great hub for me and my boy to do Scaffel whilst my wife and daughter took a train into Ulverston for the day "train station 2 min walk away". Definitely one the best kept places we have stopped in. Neighbours really friendly also :)"
"Great place to stay, easy check-in and out. Nice clean and well maintained hot tub. Bedrooms lovely and clean... only bit was the locked off area on the upstairs main room that had cobwebs. Lovely place to visit. Parking is at the racecourse, short walk away."
"Fab little cottage next to a beautiful brook in the lovely village of Cark, had everything you could ever need, the owner has left a number of things you don’t often get in self catering accommodation- thank you! "
"Perfect property for our needs, lovely and clean on arrival and a lovely little welcome gift on the kitchen table - thank you.
Everything as expected, well stocked kitchen and lovely friendly sheep at the kitchen window! Beautiful views and a lovely garden too."

I rarely write reviews about holiday stays but had to do so for our three night stay at Grange Manor. No noisy dining room nor rush to have table cleared away. All was at our pace which was what we wanted. I put in the postcode but car sat nav directed me as far as the local pub only! After turning down a wrong lane past the pub in the pitch dark (9pm on an October evening) ascending up at a dead end I rang the owner who instructed me to carry on past the pub for another 2 miles!
I eventually arrived at a building signposted as the ‘equestrian centre’ so I drove a bit further and ended up driving around some lane in a woods (surrounded by curious deer and badgers!). I rang the owner again and...

Lovely quiet location on the edge of Cartmel with good road connections to the tourist areas of the Lakes. The place was spotless and well equipped but they really do only include bedding, towels and loo roll. Whatever else you need make sure you take it with you. It lacked hanging space for clothes in the bedroom and any place to put your cases. We were surprised it was a semi detached building, we could hear a lot of noise, especially doors closing in the attached unit. I would still recommend...
