The place itself is beautiful and reasonably priced breakfast was included and we were asked then night before roughly what time we would like it. It was a help yourself full English buffet with a wonderful selection of other breakfast choices too. Checkout wasn’t until 11 which allowed us to have a relaxed morning. Friendly and helpful staff. The grounds are well-maintained and attractive. The food was fine. Breakfast was an uninteresting standard buffet, but the coffee was excellent. The downstairs still has character and charm. Upstairs, the rooms need an upgrade, with dull furnishings and walls to match. The bathroom was straight out of the 1970s with an ineffective shower. There is plenty of hot water, and it is spotlessly maintained. Lovely hotel position overlooking Morecambe bay. We had a room overlooking the sea which was a bonus. Our only criticism was that the bathroom fittings were somewhat dated, old fashioned shower over the bath and dated basin taps. Rooms are very run down and could do with an upgrade, food was very expensive and not worth the money. Staff were very nice and friendly.
