"Lovely hôtel - perfect for Lake Windermere. Facilities in the hotel are great: there are even wellingtons you can borrow to do a woodland walk. The restaurant is fantastic with high quality food. The lounge and reception area have wonderful open fires which make it feel really cosy. Our feature room was fantastic and roomy."

"The check in was simple, with clear instructions provided in the room. Access to good quality WiFi was again simple. I ate in the pub for breakfast and dinner, it was easy to put my dinner bill and associated drinks on my bill. All the staff were friendly and relaxed, despite being a busy bank holiday weekend, which is a credit to them. All the food was fantastic, served hot and without too much of a wait. The staff were on it and keen to give you a good stay. I would definitely stay again! "

"Very good a-la-carte breakfast. Nice location, close to the old town and few minutes walk from the train station. Complementary, delicious cookies in the room. Charming hotel and bedrooms, one issue is that water was dropping in the bedroom from the ceiling, from time to time. I notified the reception so I hope they fixed the issue. "

"My partner and I came up north for a hike, we spent two nights here and it was great; a good location and a peaceful scenery. Breakfast was good as well. Post services was amazing as I lost my headphones, and they were able to find it and offered to send it via post. I would absolutely recommend this place."

"The manager was helpful as the roller blind did not work properly and the retaining cable(s) had to be cut for the blind to drop and cut out the daylight. The evening meal was excellent."

"Wonderful stay here, much better than I could have anticipated. The staff are lovely and there's nothing they can't do for you. Worth noting, we travelled when the weather conditions turned horrific with the snow. This venue has a lot of travellers stranded and opened up their function room to help those stranded (all rooms were booked) - absolutely wonderful to see as they more than extended their hospitality and they should be commended for that. "Staff at reception very friendly and informative. We had a beautiful view of the lake from our lodge and although we didn't take part it looked like there was lots of activities going on (this didn't disturb us) Our lodge was bigger than expected and clean Lots of cutlery and plates to use and a filter coffee machine which was a lovely touch. The property is easy to get to and a good base for exploring the area. "
