"Absolutely superb hotel, stunning interior, fitting modern amenities in with the historic interior design. Excellent on site restaurant with the exceptional waiter. The food was excellent especially the venison casserole with broccoli and then the chocolate chilli for dessert 🍨. Not forgetting the superb breakfast."

Great hotel in Musselburgh, close to Joppa and Portobello beach.
Lovely staff and great breakfast
Busy pub serving meals
Booked double room and was allocated huge family room, toiletries included with tea and coffee facilities
Bus stop outside takes about 30 minutes to Waverley Station
Would definitely recommend.

A great weekend away for my husbands birthday. The hotel is easy to find. Staff, through all levels, were very professional, courteous and made you feel very welcome. Our room was spotless but next time we stay we will probably pay extra so we can try one of the suites. Food was to a very high standard.
All in all many thanks to the hotel and staff for making our weekend away an enjoyable one.

I wasn't sure what to expect but this Holiday Inn is one of the best run hotels i have stayed in. I mean everything just gels here. The staff are quite honestly astoundingly good. From walking in the door they were warm and friendly and just so welcoming. The room was spotless, including tea/coffee making things. And the breakfast is wonderful. 10/10 to all of you we will be back for sure.

We stayed here to celebrate my husbands special birthday. From the moment we drove up and saw the impressive ship we knew we were in for a special treat. Everything about this place is incredible. The staff were so helpful and very welcoming.
You helped make my husbands birthday treat a very special memory.
Thank you !

I can't fault the hotel, the staff, the bar, the food or the price.
Staff were young but knowledgable. Food was simple but delicious. The bar had inventive twists on drinks (Negronis with port replacing Martini Rosso? A hot chocolate with Remy Martin?)
If you're looking for a hotel that is bang in the centre of Edinburgh, look elsewhere. This is in the beautiful area of Stockbridge, 20min walk or 5 min bus ride from Princes St.
We'll stay here again. Loved it.

This was a great place to stay for our family trip to Edinburgh. The tram station is right outside and only 20 mins ins. We drove and parking was straight forward albeit chargeable at £8 per day. The pool was a real added bonus for our kids after a long day of tourism.
Only slight issue for me is our kids are getting older and Novotels concept of a "family" room is starting to look less desirable than the Premier Inns as the sofa bed is tight. There is enough room for these to be slightly...

The Murrayfield Hotel is the gem of Edinburgh. I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights. It’s a quick bus ride to Edinburgh Castle. In a great old neighbourhood of Edinburgh with excellent local shops, a few restaurants and cafes nearby.
The room. My room had very high ceilings with the original plaster work. The hotel is a collection of beautiful heritage stone mansions. The room had been recently renovated with very nice furniture, TV and a comfortable big bed. The bathroom again recently...

The best area to stay in Fisherrow is along the waterfront, particularly around North High Street and the harbour area.
This neighbourhood is the heart of Fisherrow, offering direct access to the promenade and the beach. It's a pleasant area for a stroll, with views across the Forth to Fife. You'll find a selection of eateries and local shops dotted along North High Street, and the historic harbour provides a picturesque backdrop.
Couples looking for a relaxing coastal break will find this area particularly appealing. The proximity to the beach allows for leisurely walks, and you can enjoy fresh seafood at the local restaurants. For those who appreciate a view, many accommodations here boast sea-facing rooms.
For visitors interested in a more residential and quiet experience, the streets just inland from the waterfront, such as those around South Street, offer a good alternative.
When is the best time to go to Fisherrow?
The best time to visit Fisherrow is during the late spring and summer months, particularly from May to September, when the weather is generally mild and the days are long.
During this period, you'll experience the warmest temperatures and the least amount of rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the town and its coastal surroundings. The longer daylight hours mean you have more time to enjoy outdoor activities like walks along the promenade, exploring the harbour, or visiting nearby Edinburgh.
For travellers who enjoy coastal walks and outdoor dining, May, June, and September offer pleasant conditions without the peak crowds of mid-summer. The sea air is refreshing, and local eateries often have outdoor seating available.
July and August are the warmest months, superb for those who want to make the most of the beaches and enjoy a traditional seaside holiday.
