This Novotel is very convenient to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile (all within a 10-15 minute walk). Very modern and clean. Americans, make sure you ask for a 'face cloth' if you want a wash cloth, otherwise they will tell you they don't have them and they won't put them in the rooms!
The location was close to everything in old town including the castle.

Pleasant location, good bus connections into city. A few minor hitches on first couple of day of stay which were quickly and professionally resolved by reception staff. Lovely good sized pool area.
