Excellent service and the place was great. Close tO public transportation. However, a little far from the attractions, at least 20 to 25 minutes walk (castle, princess st)
This was our first time in Scotland and the crew at Apex Waterloo made us feel very welcome. I have never seen more helpful people at a check-in desk. They went out of their way to answer our questions (and we had many as we are not experienced travelers.) I would book this hotel if we are ever in ...
The hotel was very central to my needs. However when I arrived the hotel was fully booked and I was placed into a room in their Townhouse across the road. The rooms here were very small and, as I was on a business trip, this didn't leave me with much space to work in the evening and maneuver around ...
Staff is very polite, professional and helpful. Rooms are very spacious and nice. Facilities are good and it felt like perfect stay. Only thing that I was surprised about was time it took to prepare dinner, we had to wait for 1.5hrs for simple food. Not sure if it was one off kitchen disaster.
I was able to walk all over Edinburgh from this hotel on the Royal Mile. It was within easy distance of all Fringe and Tattoo activities. Edinburgh was jammed with tourists, and my room was a quiet sanctuary when I wanted some peace and quiet! The staff were uniformly kind and helpful. They helped ...
Only gripe is that the room got stuffy overnight with a family room with four bodies in it (yes, even in Scotland!) and the air cooling system wasn't great. Other than that, it was excellent. Great facilities, great staff, great food.
We arrived in Edinburgh after a long journey. While not yet time for check in, the hotel accomodated us and got our room early. Was able to nap in quiet comfort.
This hotel is in a convenient location with parking and you can walk to the castle. Room was OK, bath was very tight for american standards. Staff was pleasant but not helpful when asked for dining recommendations.
Staff, very friendly and helpful.(never met the chef) hotel room restaurant, bar very nice and cosy. hotel corridors stunk of wet dog, we do understand there was a blind dog training program going on but still not nice. chef did shout and ball at a staff member while we were eating, not professional ...
The hotel itself is very lovely and modern, except for the "climate controls". Room was so hot, even in cold temps outside. Staff was without doubt the best, most friendliest and helpful ever! We would definitely stay there again if they just fix the cooling aspect in rooms. So convenient to both ...
