Stayed in inverlith holiday appartment, the appartment is more than comfortable. 10 mins by bus to city centre. Marks and spencer and tesco near the appartment. The only bad thing was the wifi.

"Nice hotel, good transport links to city centre"
Very pleased with this hotel. We booked for 2 nights to go to the fringe, and this worked out much cheaper than a similar hotel in the city centre. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, and the bus takes you to the centre in 20 minutes for £1.50. The last bus home is 23.54, so plenty of time to see evening shows too. Being outside the centre also meant the hotel had plenty of parking space. Our room was lovely -very spacious, with a recently refurbished bathroom. There was no air-conditioning though - I appreciate you don't often need this is Scotland, but we chose a rare warm week and had to sleep with all the windows open. Fortunately we had a room at the back of the hotel so it was nice and quiet. Breakfast was good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with out shower, and this was fixed within 10 minutes of us reporting it at reception. Bar prices were also very cheap. although the bar wasn't the most pleasant place to sit.

"Nice hotel with good proximity to the center of No"
We stayed overnight and it was a pleasant stay, although it has been raining on both days. The hotel has a good size swimming pool and other spa facilities which is great if you're there on a rainy day as were we.

"Small hotel located in lovely little town."
Booked a one night stay as we were attending wedding nearby. Very confusing way into hotel through its cafe. Never did find reception just a small cupboard like messy office. Interior signs were quite confusing. Staff were friendly, though we were annoyed to have them chapping on our door at 8.50am wanting in to clean room. Breakfast was served in the cafe and for the cost of the room for a night was a bit tacky. Room itself was spotless and comfortable. No plug near the only mirror was a pain if you wanted to use a hairdyer. Nice enough hotel but overpriced when you had to wander all over hotel trying to find someone to check you in and when you see where breakfast was served.

Hotel and Spa staff were very welcoming and helpful. Chef was amazing cooked a special vegan meal for my daughter each night we ate in hotel, as there was nothing suitable for her on menu. Room was comfortable and we had everything we required (only feedback I would give is that it would have been more useful to have a couple more sockets available). Loved the spa and we were very happy with the treatments we had. We also enjoyed the pool facilities (hydro, sauna and steam). The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Edinburgh. If you do not have a car. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel grounds which will take you to a tram stop which then takes you into the heart of Edinburgh.

Pocket Guide: Adventure Sport Hotels in Edinburgh

Staying in Edinburgh isn’t just about sightseeing (unless you want it to be - of course). There is more to this famous city than meets the eye. With Scotland’s 'Golf Coast' on the doorstep in East Lothian and a variety of offbeat adventures to be had within the city you might be surprised by what’s on offer. Booking your perfect accommodation is easy with Expedia.

    Adventurous Activities in Edinburgh

While it’s unlikely you will be abseiling down Edinburgh Castle anytime soon, Edinburgh has a vibrant climbing community. There are impressive indoor climbing centres in Granton and Ratho - the latter is the largest indoor climbing wall in the world! The Edinburgh International Climbing Arena also boasts Europe’s largest suspended aerial adventure rope course.

No trip to Edinburgh would be complete without a game of paintball. OK that’s not true, but it’s there if you want it. Head to the indoor centre on Leith Walk or the outdoor area just outside the city in South Queensferry for some colourful simulated combat.

The city is also within easy reach of the Pentland Hills, making it a great place for hikers and runners to base themselves. Hillend Dry Ski Slope is a handy place for skiers.
