Hotel well positioned but food and drinks on the pretentiously priced side. Could do some things better, such as providing larger duvets on double beds and removing the deluge shower heads in confined cubicles to make them more user friendly. Dining menu is limited for a hotel of its asserted class. ...
Nice hotel. The hotel layout is slightly confusing but I think this is due to how Edinburgh old town is designed and the hotel is working best with this situation. The room was spotlessly clean and fresh towels were provided daily. The room is spacious with plenty of storage. The room also has tea ...
This was a good choice after spending time in Edinburgh and before a morning flight. The room was comfy and clean, bathroom was also clean, no hair conditioner (which was a shame). It was a relief to find such a nice, reasonably priced restaurant on site. Our food was very good.
Beautiful hotel located in the heart of the city, within walking distance to upscale shopping, Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, great restaurants, terrific pubs. The management and staff of the Waldorf lives up to its illustrious name. They were extraordinarily responsive, courteous, and helpful. ...
Edinburgh is such a beautiful city. So much to see, we needed more time, 3 days not enough. HMY Britannia in Leith well worth a bus trip as is the Royal Botanical Gardens. Surgeons Hall Museum was a fascinating experience if a little grim! If you are fit climb up to Arthur's Seat for the best view ...
This is a pleasant hotel in a great location. I especially appreciated being able to check in early after a long flight. The staff was very helpful
Staying in Edinburgh isn’t just about sightseeing (unless you want it to be - of course). There is more to this famous city than meets the eye. With Scotland’s 'Golf Coast' on the doorstep in East Lothian and a variety of offbeat adventures to be had within the city you might be surprised by what’s on offer. Booking your perfect accommodation is easy with Expedia.
While it’s unlikely you will be abseiling down Edinburgh Castle anytime soon, Edinburgh has a vibrant climbing community. There are impressive indoor climbing centres in Granton and Ratho - the latter is the largest indoor climbing wall in the world! The Edinburgh International Climbing Arena also boasts Europe’s largest suspended aerial adventure rope course.
No trip to Edinburgh would be complete without a game of paintball. OK that’s not true, but it’s there if you want it. Head to the indoor centre on Leith Walk or the outdoor area just outside the city in South Queensferry for some colourful simulated combat.
The city is also within easy reach of the Pentland Hills, making it a great place for hikers and runners to base themselves. Hillend Dry Ski Slope is a handy place for skiers.
