This was our second stay at the Daffodil Hotel in Grasmere having previously stayed in February. The hotel is very clean and tidy with a very friendly and helpful reception staff. The onsite parking is great.
Our room was a decent size and was very clean with good standard facilities (TV, air-conditioning, complimentary water, hairdryer etc)
The spa facilities are acceptable and the only downside to the hotel is it's lack of swimming pool.

We stayed one night at the Victorian house as we had planned a last minute visit to the lakes due to particularly good weather forecast for this time of year.
The staff were very welcoming; the room was as described ‘cosy’ and furnished beautifully. The breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of choice.
We would definitely look to stay again, especially as it was such good value for money and right in the centre of the village.

Excellent, family-run hotel with personalised touches. Lovely spa and lounge facilities, excellent restaurant (service can be a bit slow at busy times, but great atmosphere and the food is worth the wait), attentive but not intrusive staff. Perfect base for central Grasmere, great public transport and road links - walking on the doorstep.

We were here less than three weeks after our last visit. Our trips get closer together. Obviously, we love it! Everything is perfect- especially the staff. Thank you.

A lovely guest house. Staff friendly, polite and always helpful. Our room in The Hideaway was clean and modern. The bed was a bit harder than we’d like. We would love to go back and have no hesitation in recommending this guest house.

Excellent rooms (all 3 rooms in our party were Superior roons & all we excellent), lovely breakfasts & friendly helpful sraff.
The only negatives were the hand wash did not work & despite leaving the top off it was not replaced . Also the tea/coffee was not replaced after use ub

Lovely hotel and a short walk to Grasmere village. We had an executive King room which was very nice. Good size and spotless. Nice bar with reasonable prices (same food menu and prices as the restaurant but less formal and no need to book). We dined in the restaurant in the evening (need to book table in advance) and the service and quality of the food was very good. Portions were quite small but we didn't leave hungry and we didn't bother with starters as we had earlier had a quite big lunch...

Great hotel, great location and lovely staff. Very welcoming and friendly. Bus 591, 555 stops just outside the hotel and can take you anywhere whether it’s Windermere, Grasmere, Keswick all very easy to commute. Some great restaurants around. Staff extremely friendly at the reception. Breakfast top notch - 10/10 for Manuel who takes orders at the brekkie area , always smiling. Would highly recommend.

We've just spent a lovely week at the Queen's Head at Troutbeck, Windermere. Lovely staff. Great food. Just near enough Windermere without being in the hustle and bustle and easy walks right from the door! We hope to return again soon.

This was a last minute booking for us, as we were menat to be camping in Keswick, but after the recent storms we were told the campsite was flooded and choose to stay at the Regent in Ambleside instead and managed to book the last room availiable. We normally opt for 4 star hotels and despite the Regent being a 3 star we were not disappointed and in fact we thought it was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. This is the third time we have stayed at the Rothay Manor and we were not disappointed. The whole experience from beginning to end was delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and the evening dining was a joy (word of caution - not really suitable for those who expect a large serving of meat and two veg followed by pud as the menu reflects the creative flair of the celebrity chef and is a whole facinating dining experience in itself). Friendly staff do their best to make the visit...

After a long day walking, checking into The Churchill was quick. Great parking, near to pubs and restaurants and a great bar. Service was good and breakfast was excellent. Spacious room, clean and comfortable. Really good value for money. Would definitely stay again.

We had a 2 night stay in late August. The hotel although busy maintained a quiet environment. The grounds and gardens are gorgeous and difficult to tear oneself away from. Rooms are of a good standard but on our next visit I would ask for one with a lake view. Breakfast is good but the 4 course evening meal was outstanding (and good value for the quality) All the staff we encountered went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. All in all a genuine 5 star experience.

The best area to stay in Elterwater is the village itself, particularly around the B5343 road as it passes through.
Elterwater village is the heart of the area, offering a traditional Lakeland experience. It's a small, picturesque settlement located in the Great Langdale valley, known for its stone cottages, the Elterwater Lake, and the River Brathay. The village green is a central feature, and there are a couple of top pubs and a small shop. This area provides direct access to numerous walking trails right from your doorstep.
Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find Elterwater ideal. You can enjoy strolls to the lake, explore the local fells, and relax in a traditional pub in the evenings. The setting is great for those who appreciate natural beauty and a slower pace.
Families will also appreciate Elterwater for its outdoor opportunities. With the lake nearby, children can enjoy skimming stones or easy walks.
