This is a beautiful hotel set in amazing grounds, with staff who are so helpful and willing to please. The walks in the hotel grounds are stunning. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The gardens were beautiful and immaculate. The hotel was well maintained and lovely to spend time in. It is a perfect example of a great British hotel.

The hotel was beautiful, but the staff were so-so. We tried to get a light dinner (or "snacks" as they called it) but we could not get anyone to help us (despite being told where to order it) so we ended up going out to eat. The breakfast was pretty good though. The staff at the front desk were not very friendly but they weren't terrible. I would recommend this place because of its physical beauty, despite the less than optimal staff members.

Where do I start ! a quintessential English country hotel. The grounds were immaculately kept and I have paid good money to visit gardens not as spectacular as these. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for you a special shout out for Brad and for Helen in the assistance they gave us. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and although we didn’t have bar food, what we saw coming out looked extremely good. The only comment I would make is that if you were staying for a number of days the menu doesn’t change that often and is small. I can especially recommend their cooked breakfasts. There was nothing we could fault with the hotel. It’s position, it’s condition and it staff were all excellent.

Beautiful older hotel with lovely gardens set on the lake with fantastic views of the lake from the bar and outside patio, comfortable slightly old fashioned in a good way, staff were excellent, helpful and welcoming. Would stay again.

Staff were really friendly. Hotel and grounds were beautiful. Rooms were spotless. They also left a teddy on my daughters bed, which was lovely.the only 2 downsides were the WiFi (room 20) wasn’t reliable, this is fine if you don’t need the internet but if you intend to use it was a bit of pain because there was no mobile signal either. I like that it is a dog friendly hotel, however we had a dog barking most of the night at the hotel.
