It was my second time staying here at El Cortez. The receptionist upgraded us to a Cabana suite on the top floor for somewhat of a view. The room was clean, security was always visible. We couldn't ask for more.
Stephanie at the front desk was awesome, even when the guest before was a visible pain in the rear, she was friendly and kept her smile the whole time. The tv did not work the second day of my stay but who needs tv when you're in Vegas?

We had a wonderful stay at the 4-Queens. The hotel is aging but is still a great and fun place to stay. The employees were wonderful and security was ever present. The only downfall is the plumbing. Our bathtub/shower would not drain and filled with each short shower. This happened the last time we were at the 4-Queens also. But all, in all it was a great stay.
Convenient location! Was not a fan of the dirty parking garage, and the elevator in the parking garage was frightening. Overall appearance of the hotel was nice and the rooms weren't bad for the price. LOVED Hash house a gogo and the fact they had a Starbucks.
We upgraded to a Gold Club room. Great to have fresh coffee, candy and fruit each day. We were a little disappointed that the pool not open but turned out the weather was not swimming weather during our trip. If you want the Fremont Experience, the Golden Nugget is the place to stay. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful.
Stayed at the California four nights during the week some staff was friendly some staff was very crabby not sure if you don't like your job why are you there. pretty tough to get a drink if you were playing slots. If you were playing cards drinks were there every 10 minutes. It's a nice hotel to stay at if you're not going to gamble there. Gambling at the California was absolutely terrible never seen one big winner all week I was there. Rooms were very clean and maids were extremely friendly! They had construction inside and outside going on all week. now you would think they would work from 7 AM to 10 PM not the case I heard a hammer drill going at 3 AM which made me very unhappy and during the day very loud noise the whole day. Didn't stick around. Garbage truck and other loud vehicles making loud noises in the middle of the night backing up sirens and loud bangs. Not sure why am writing this review because the hotel could care less all they want is your money. One good thing about this hotel is no resort fees. Other than the construction going on outside in the middle of the night nice place to stay at. Food at the café was also good. Clean bathrooms.
great room for a great price! area is a bit sketchy but felt safe overall throughout my whole stay. hair dryer didn't work but they fixed it right away. The bed was very comfortable but not well balanced. I would definitely come back and recommend to others.
