As city’s go, Las Vegas is one hell of a show! Bigger! Better! Brighter! A party town quite unlike no other!
Sin City is a place where it’s impossible to tell whether it burns brighter under the desert sun during the day or under neon at night. Of course, many people go to Vegas to try their luck in the city’s clock free casinos, but there’s much more to this city than simply that.
When the State of Nevada issued its first Las Vegas gaming license in 1931, this sleepy little town in the desert began an extraordinary journey – culminating in the extravagant playground we see today. Once the favoured retreat of notorious gangsters and the 60’s Rat Pack, modern Las Vegas is a glittering paradise of entertainment that’s ideal for gamblers and families alike.
Whilst gambling and adult entertainment are something of a calling card for Las Vegas, it doesn’t take much effort to find the city’s more innocent side. All charged with the pizazz you’d expect from a party town, incredible memories can be made from enjoying simple pleasures such as the Fremont Street Experience’s evening parade and Bellagio Hotel’s nightly fountain show. Best of all, neither costs a cent!
For lovers of the exotic, the Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef Aquarium will bring you up close and personal with all kinds of fascinating sea creatures whilst daredevils might face their biggest fears at the Stratosphere Tower – home to the record breaking free-fall! If all that’s not enough, you could always hit the road to experience the Grand Canyon – one of the seven wonders of the world.
Another popular pastime in Vegas is shopping. As you might expect in a town where people go hoping to win big, the city rivals the likes of New York and Los Angeles with its selection of designer boutiques, upscale shopping malls and children’s stores. Shopping can be hungry work, of course, and whilst Vegas still features the enormous all-you-can-eat buffets it’s famed for, the city has also developed a fine dining scene in its own right which is becoming famed for its quality and diversity. Then there are its ever popular shows, such as Cirque du Soleil's homage to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson ONE; Love, their tribute to the greatest pop band in the world, The Beatles; or Le Reve The Dream. There's entertainment galore at Las Vegas.
Vegas would simply not be Vegas without its spectacular themed casino hotels. Combining genuine luxury with outrageous novelty, a trip to Sin City could just as easily see you experiencing Ancient Rome at Caesars Palace as stepping aboard an Italian gondola at The Venetian. Whether you find yourself sipping cocktails at the top of the Paris Hotel’s Eiffel Tower or simply gazing out over either the Mirage’s erupting volcanoes or the NY skyline of New York New York, you’ll be sure it could only happen in Las Vegas.
