"Fantastic Carrington House Hotel"
This hotel is great value, swimming pool great, room (60) great, the food fabulous, ideal location, but best of all were the staff, nothing was to much trouble, there was always a smile from them even in the most trying conditions. The receptionists were brilliant, the bar staff were also brilliant and the staff in the restaurant were also brilliant, we didn't meet our cleaner but the room was cleaned everyday, all staff were a credit to this hotel. And as arnie says I will be back!

"Pleasant personal experience"
We booked a last minute double room and got an en-suite twin room on the ground floor at the back of the building, which turned out to be much more modern than some other rooms we booked before in the same hotel. The following night I wanted to book a single room and hotel staff was very helpfull and gave me one of the nicer rooms on the first floor for a bargain. From experience I know that you could also get rooms which are very old fashioned, with dated furniture and ugly carpets and in urgent need for refurbishment! A real drawback in this hotel is the poor Wifi connection, you only have it very near the reception.

"Great for what we needed"
I've never slept so well in a hotel! Twin room was almost practically a double, as it was rather cosy. My friend was over the moon with the shower pressure. Take an extension lead!!! Plenty of plug sockets, but only one that was for UK plugs, so two girls with phones and cameras to charge, laptops, hairdryer and straighteners.. became a juggling act. Lighting wonderful and actually able to open windows, but an oddly bent shower door?! Staff were fantastic throughout, just wish we'd had better warning that WiFi signal in the room is non existent. Other than that they were beyond helpful with any requests. Car park also a decent size, permit is a fair amount because you can leave it there during your stay as the location is soooo close to town, you can walk it and save money on all the other car parks you'd use. Take your own bottled water, the tap water was practically white. Very very good value for money. + points: staff, value, quiet, cleanliness, location - points: plug sockets, WiFi only in public areas, small space and tap water P.s. don't expect luxury, tad old fashioned but that doesn't matter.

Special occasions are something of a forte with Britannia Hotels. These are ideal for those who have something to celebrate but don't want all the fuss or organising it themselves.

Dorset is a beautiful county to visit at any time of year. Booking a room in a Britannia hotel assures of certain standards of excellence, but without the bills associated with larger chains.
