"We love this hotel for its quirkiness, it’s atmosphere and charm. An added bonus is that every room is dog friendly but you would never know a dog had been in it when you arrive. This hotel has an atmosphere that can never be replicated The views from the restaurant are stunning and worthy of the South of France on a sunny day. Please, leave this hotel alone, don’t “modernise” it and make it like all the rest! The only downsides were the slow service for coffee and not enough staff at check in. Also having to book your breakfast and evening meal times was inconvenient when the times left at check in were limited to times you wouldn’t normally eat!! But despite these minor gripes it is a lovely place to stay"

"All the staff were pleasant and helpful, polite and did everything they could to make the stay there enjoyable. This was our second stay there, first time our room was overlooking the river and countryside, this time we were at the front and it faces the busy main road which you can hear. "

"It was convieniently situated on the Esplanade with easy walk to buses. Only down side is there are about 6 steps up into the hotel. Believe is access for wheelchairs round the back ."
