Absolutely beautiful hotel, room was spacious and clean. We only issue is you do not get a fridge or anything to make coffee these really would be a great addition to the room. There is a nice machine on each level. The room did also come with gowns and slippers and toiletries. I would definitely stay here again great location.

Really nice hotel with a pleasant roof terrace and great staff; the free coffee all day was a nice touch as were the free croissants first thing. Lots of interesting food options nearby - iconic dining at: The Roxy; Bubby’s and Katz Diner were all only a short walk away. There are good transport connections via the nearby subway station and it sits in a very friendly and safe neighbourhood on the border between Chinatown and Little Italy.

Friendly staff and easy check in. Free coffee in reception. The hotel is modern, clean and fresh. The rooms were clean with plenty of sockets, towels and space. Handy fridge and coffee maker and ice machine in the hall by the lift. You can also buy snacks and drinks in the lobby and there is a microwave to heat things up if you need to. Fantastic location as the hotel is close to subway station so can easily get anywhere, but it’s in a more peaceful part of town. There are loads of excellent restaurants and coffee shops around. Our room (two double beds) was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend and would definitely stay again.

My daughter and I had a trip to New York for our big birthdays, hotel was very central close to port authority, walking distance to time square and many other areas. Hotel staff made our visit special for us and are very helpful , friendly , professional and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I would avoid 9th Avenue at night time as it didn’t feel very safe .

Nice hotel. Good location for Mid town. The resort fee is ridiculous & just an extra charge disguised. Room was nice & the hotel took into account my requests. Staff very nice. Breakfast fine

Such a great stay here. Right in midtown Manhattan in the heart of the action but at a really reasonable price. The room was small but immaculate. I requested a higher room with a view and the hotel did exactly that for us - the 21st floor with a beautiful view to wake up to. I would definitely recommend staying at CIVILIAN and I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived a little after 3pm, and had a lovely greeting from staff, but our room wasn’t ready so we had to wait. We booked and paid through Expedia… an Empire via room with living space. Please note that the hotel does not offer this type of room. None of their Empire View rooms have the separate living room area. The Empire view rooms do give a great view of the Empire State Building but their ‘living room’ is a tiny space with a chaise and a TV. Management were excellent with us and moved us...

The rooms were clean and the beds were really comfortable the best night sleep in ages. The check in staff were reslly friendly and the breakfast was a really nice touch especially the waffle maker 😋

It was just as I expected. It was not noisy at all (being so close to Times Square). I booked a room with a bunk bed and it was as small as shown in the pictures so definitely as expected. Stay was comfortable.

Our stay at Pod 39 was very enjoyable. The hotel location is perfect. Quiet yet close to Grand Central, Chrysrel Building, Empire State and Times Square, lots of shop and eating out options nearby. The hotel itself is in good condition. Its highlight is the rooftop. In the morning the bar is closed but you can still go there and eat breakfast & enjoy the views. Downstairs they have another bar. In the morning there is a free coffee and tea and some breakfast options are available to buy like...

The hotel itself is clean and centrally located for NYC tourism in Times Sq. the staff are great, breakfast included was a good start to each day and the price we got through Expedia was a bargain. Be warned that there is a migrant shelter directly opposite the hotel which can be intimidating as large groups hang around outside - the hotel have a regular security guard and the NYPD are outside the shelter all the time.

Great location, good pricing, friendly staff. If your are looking for a comfortable and modern stay with just the basics then I don’t see any reason to complain about this hotel. A very useful option to avoid paying a fortune in the more opulent hotels. They kindly extended my checkout until 12pm for no extra charge.
