I wanted/thought I would be more "wow'd" as a first timer at a Waldorf property. This property came highly recommended within a traveler group though I found it to be not so stand-out'ish as I'd heard Waldorf properties are supposed to be. Overall I was underwhelmed. On the upside, the price per night wasn't horrible and a had a room with a sorta sliver of a view out to the Pacific. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows all comfy. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly, plus able to combine my different bookings into one so I wouldn't have to change rooms. Appreciate that! The restaurant breakfast buffet was good. Some of the baked items were a little on the tasting mass produced side (ie hard or flavorless) but overall a great selection and variety of eats to choose from. Room Service was friendly, fast and the food was good too. Good portion sizes, by US standards :). Overall it was a good stay. Maybe a different Waldorf property will leave me with that Waldorf "wow" I hoped to have at this property.
