A con is that there is only one shop which has basically nothing and is really expensive; so you either have to bring your food or eat at the bar in the hostel. The beach itself is good for surfers, but you can also enjoy the waves without a board. There are only two (or maybe three; nobody knows) buses from Pedasí to Playa Venao: once in the morning (I think at 7) and once at 12 o'clock. It takes around 1.5 hours. Not a swimming beach but you can walk just 5 minutes to get to the beach or 1.5 miles hike to get to another beach. Both lovely and clean and swimmable. There is a restaurant on site and the food and drink were very good and prices fair. The staff was friendly and attentive. We stayed in a lovely ocean front cottage. It was simple and comfortable. It had both ceiling fan and air conditioning. The electric went out several times in the night but the generator turned on so quickly it was never so noticeable. The water pressure is non existent but also not an issue. The view made it all well worth it. We loved it!"
