Blackpool has more entertainment venues and attractions that you would have thought could reasonably be packed into one town! If you want to see what it has to offer for a short break or longer holiday, book into a Lancashire hotel here and have it all on your doorstep. From the Winter Gardens and Grand theatre to three great piers and the famous Blackpool Tower, kids and adults alike love this place for its sights, rides and diverse cultural venues. If you're stuck on where to take your kids, there's the Model Village and Gardens, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and loads of other fun possibilities. Or head for Blackpool Zoo to see the lions and tigers. It's one of the UK's top zoos and you're sure to have a great day out here.
Blackpool Zoo is a multi-award-winning venue and makes the perfect destination for a family day out. Take the M55, exit at J4 and you'll have no problem finding it. Set in 32 acres of parkland and encompassing waterfalls, lakes and woodland, the zoo is home to a bewildering and impressive array of wildlife. This includes everything from the familiar elephants, big cats, giraffes and gorillas to rare and endangered species, with sea lions being one of the star attractions. The enclosures are all designed to imitate the animals' natural conditions as closely as possible, and when you come along here from your base at a local Lancashire hotel you'll be able to see them as close to the wild as it's possible to get. There are lots of other facilities at Blackpool Zoo and you can make a full day of it here.
You can get up close and personal to some of the animals, though not of course to the big cats, which would gladly have you for breakfast! In Creepy Crawley Corner kids can handle Colin the cockroach, and in the Amazonia section some of the monkeys can be very friendly. Feeding time is popular too, at the local restaurant and café, when you come here for the day from your Lancashire hotel or guesthouse.
