It's right next to Waverley train station, so if you're traveling from the airport, the Airlink 100 which leaves outside of the airport is perfect as it drops you off 2 mins from the hotel. Upon arrival on the 7th floor reception, we were offered free champagne and we managed to get into our room an hour early. Great start to the holiday. We were upgraded to a Vista room on floor 6 and it had everything you could wish for. Immaculate throughout with a free mini bar which is topped up daily, Dyson hairdryer, slippers, robes, clothes steamer, hair straighteners, Nespresso coffee machine etc. They have you covered for all of your needs. The bed was also very comfortable and the rainfall shower was powerful. The breakfast is spot on, with a choice of full English, continental, cereal, fruit, and the staff are first rate. It's a 10 minutes walk to the castle uphill on Royal Mile, and about the same waking down to Hollyrood House. The Royal Britannia was our pick of the tours, and the tram stop is right outside Harvey Nichols which was about a quick stroll past the train station and into the new town. The tour is amazing and you have a hand held audio guide included in the price. All in all, a really lucky pick from Google and you won't be disappointed with this top class hotel, that has a champagne bar with views across the city.
