"Had a really lovely stay at the Strand Palace. We recieved a free upgrade to a King size double room. The hotel was reasonably quiet and the food was great, a huge selection was available for breakfast. The only slight criticism is that the cold water tap in the ensuite bathroom kept running hot. Don't know what was wrong with the plumbing, but it wasn't very convenient to brushing your teeth!"

"Staff is friendly, courteous and professional. Rooms are small but comfortable. My only beef is the bed was too close to the wall which made it challenging getting out of bed and the toilet seat wouldn't stay up. That's challenging for a guy. Complimentary coffee and cookies are good. Centrally located. "The heater is too hot can not adjust when weather gets warm"

"hotel very well located, old school elegance with wood panelling and slightly dated rooms but still very nice. Breakfast was very nice but self serve but not on tea/coffee which is slightly frustrating. "
