Took my wife for our 35th wedding anniversary, upon arrival we were greeted with tea, coffee & biscuits, local restaurants were recommended and Denise the owner made a reservation for us that evening. Our room had a four poster bed and each day had fresh clean towels and his and hers dressing gowns laid out. The breakfast menu catered for all tastes including vegetarian and was all home cooked. I would definately give it a 5 star rating and look forward to staying there again.
Within walking distance of Windermere and Bowness. Arrived early and asked if we could park car. Room was ready so was allowed to check in early which made all the difference after a long journey. Room was beautiful and very clean. Fresh milk in a small fridge and wine in a decanter for us to enjoy. In the reception area there were homemade cakes to help yourself to. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. All in all this guesthouse deserves its high rating. We were well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return.

We stayed in Room 1. We were greeted by Martin who kindly allowed us to go to our room a bit early after our drive. The guest house itself is lovely inside and we really enjoyed our stay there. Although our room faced the main road, it was very quiet and the room was warm and cosy. Nice tray of tea, coffee, hot chocolate with biscuits too. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice for everyone.
We stayed midweek - Monday night through to Friday morning. The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful and the food was first class, with sensible choices of wines with each course. The room was very comfortable and the wifi worked well throughout the hotel (no O2 signal though, so mobile phone calls were not possible, thankfully). The location is well placed for exploring the area - we shall definitely go back there when we are next in the Lake District.
