Holidays this year may be a bit different with the Government current restrictions and guidelines but The Lake District still has many places to enjoy and there are plenty of things to do either in park or close by. Sunny Bank Lodge is a stunning modern woodland lodge situated in a quiet location of Skiptory Howe, White Cross Bay Holiday Park in the idyllic Lake District National Park. Both the lake and marina are just a short walk away. This new (2019) spacious and eye catching lodge offers contemporary styled accommodation with everything you would expect and need for a comfortable stay. The lodge will sleep up to 8 guests offering 2 double bedrooms, twin bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living space making it ideal for both families and couples alike, also a travel cot is available on request. The lodge boasts substantial outdoor living space on the front and side decking for al fresco dining or simply a place to unwind. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing break at any time of the year. Quality and reliability of connection will vary based on the number of people using it, prevailing weather conditions and therefore may be limited or slower than you are used to. Comfortable beds and lovely shower rooms. We had one slight problem on out first day but sorted by the host in less than half an hour. Couldn't fault the lodge and surroundings - the only down-side of our week was the internet that kept dipping out which was a bit annoying but, all in all, a super stay. ##### Tricia B. Stayed for 4 nights over New Year and had a wonderful time. The lodge is top class & furnished to a very high standard, it's like home from home & has all the mod cons & amenities that you need. Whitecross Bay itself is a delightful site set in beautiful & tranquil surroundings. There's a club house, swimming pool, restaurant & gym and you're only a mile or so either side of Ambleside & Bowness so there's always plenty going on to keep the whole family entertained. It was the first time spending christmas away. We couldn’t have made a better choice, we had the best week staying in the beautiful setting of White Cross Bay. Sunny Bank is a fantastic lodge. Luxurious, modern and well equipped with everything you need (even for Christmas Dinner!). It was a very comfortable stay in this cosy lodge. We would highly recommend a stay here. We would come back to Sunny Bank. ##### Simone W. The property it self is very modern and lovely decorated. But the things we didn’t expected made our stay even better. Was a lot of kid movies (DVD) to choose my daughter loved, a good option of games/puzzle, fully equipped kitchen a mean fully, umbrellas available. The lodge is lovely, was clean and ideal to have the 3 en-suite bathrooms.Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side so we didn’t get much use of the deck area but would’ve been lovely had the sun come out. One of the showers kept dripping but it didn’t bother us as the sound of the rain drowned it out and when you closed the door to the bathroom we didn’t hear it. There were no urgent issues to be resolved. The amenities are great for kids and location is great for visiting nearby Windermere and Ambleside. The Marina is nice but you can’t swim in it.Guests can only use the pool facilities at set times in the afternoon which unfortunately didn’t suit since we were out at the times it was available. It was handy to have the restaurant on site and be able to get take away from there delivered to the lodge too.I’d definitely recommend staying especially for families as there’s enough to keep kids entertained and quiet enough for the adults to enjoy some peace too! Nearby Brockhole on Windermere is fantastic for a day out - lots for the kids to do, boat hire, tree top fun, archery, swimming in the lake - we visited on our last day after checking out when the sun finally came out and wished we could’ve had another full day to make the most of that especially as it was only a 10-15 min walk from the holiday park. ##### Holly U. All I can say is it was perfect. Decorated to a high standard and everything you need is there. Louise was brilliant and it’s a credit to her. She is very good at communicating quickly so you’re not waiting long for any queries to be answered. Its location is about 2 min walk from the reception/pub/ shop/ play area and swimming pool so you’re not going to get lost. The introductions given were easy to follow when checking in so there will be no problems. Sadly we had rain almost every day but we still got out and about and the site is a few miles drive to Windermere where there is lots to do for all ages. The decking area loops round the lodge so you’d be getting the sun most of the day (if you’re lucky with the weather) and there are three different seating areas to relax in. Highly recommend a stay here and you will not regret it. We will certainly be back and we traveled from Northern Ireland. Worth the 12 hour round trip!! ##### Pauline M.
