"Friendly staff. We had to park across the road on another site. Room clean and comfortable bed. There is no lift. We didn’t eat in the hotel. Reasonably quiet by we were woken at 6.30 on Saturday morning with unexplained noise from the roof. "

"Great location and room as expected for a Motel One. Only issue was the temperature of the rooms. Despite the control being at its lowest number the temperature of the room didnt change and i was too hot and struggled sleeping. I had to open the window to get some air in but that did mean noise from the pub courtyard outside. "

"Usually choose HI express when in Newcastle. Easy to drive to , car park next door , everything we need (pubs and gigs) in easy walking distance. Staff always locals so helpful and friendly"

"Hotel was ok, was about right for the price. A little noisy at night. Hotel staff were excellent. My partner left some belongings in the hotel room and the staff contacted us a few hours later after we checked out and we were able to collect. Thank you Colin and staff."

"Lovely stay, made even better by lovely, friendly staff. Everyone we met was so helpful and welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Deluxe room was roomy, quiet and added benefit of separate bath and shower. I struggle to find fault....maybe a USB or plug by bed. "

"For the price it was excellent value The heating didn’t work in our room (hot water and shower did work and shower was lovely) but we did have a heater which worked a treat. There was complimentary breakfast bag and free coffee machine in the morning "

"Really enjoyed our stay based in a recently built (or upgraded?) annex. Very friendly staff who were helpful and supportive. We ate one night in the hotel and enjoyed a wide ranging choice of menu. Food was served quickly (although we did have to chase the waiter for the dessert menu). Excellent location for touring the area. 10 minutes drive to Morpeth and the A1 (or national rail) and 5 minutes from the coast at Newbiggin. There is a country park on the outskirts of Ashington.
